“Golovkin still has to catch up territory-wise. We earned the spot. Obviously, Golovkin is working his way there, but he still has to work a little more to get to our level. It looks like he’s going to get there, but he’s not there yet.” said Martinez.

agree with Sergio but if he beats Cotto and don't want to fight GGG then its ducking - 'to get to our level'. :yep

Sergio's fooling no one, he doesn't want the fight and will retire before golovkin has supposedly "earned his shot".

i know this is old news but from fanbase, i belive GGG has more and would sell out more then Sergio...from accomplishment, yea we can give it to Sergio. But saying that he is not on the same level doesnt exclude you from not fighting him... its like another donaire/rigo bs... only that that fight eventually materialize.

The whole "Cotto is a welter" thing has to stop.

He hasnt fought there in 4 1/2 years and has had 6 fights at 154.

Martinez started out at welter too and isnt a particularly big MW.

Put it this way, the size difference between Cotto and Martinez wont be as big as the one Martinez had to overcome vs. Chavez.

    I agree .

    Hes not fooling anyone .

Its the same with Marquez ducking Ruslan .

Too much risk at this late point of their careers .

I mean what did Matthew Macklin do to earn his shot ?

Martinez from 3 years ago would beat Current GGG in a tough hard fought decision .

2014 Martinez does not have much of a chance .

take the fight sergio, chavez gave you the shot, you should do the same with GGG, if he isn't on your level he should be easy work then

Martinez needs to stay quiet if he's gonna keep on ducking.
