Elijah McCall did not accept the fight.

Pulev still has no confirmed opponent 4 days from the fight.

No sane fighter would accept only $10,000 on weeks notice for a fight.

maybe pulev should try that same strategy and win rather than do nothing and lose

Well that depends. If you're a nonity, not even a fringe contender like this McCall kid who doesn't even have his zero intact you take what you get.

Nah - see - the kid cant win - and there is zero exposure - so he needs to be paid for his loss. If it was 10G off-tv for a fighter who thought he actually had a shot - then maybe - As a previous poster said - Leif Larson or even Elijah mcalls dad would've be a better call for this crappy money as they know that they might land that elusive shot. But Pulev's peeps are smart - they know all that as well - and they don't want to jeoporsise his title shot on a silly off tv bout.

I reckon McCall will kick himself if he doesn't take this. It won't be hard for Sauerland to find someone of the same standard as McCall. Even with a loss but a good account of himself will see McCall open up many potential fights with the Sauerland stable. He'd be jeopardising more pay days against the likes of Helenius, Price, Boytsov etc who need fights like young McCall far more than Pulev does.

After agreeing 2 fight & docs being received. McCall watched tape of Pulev and pulled out of undercard bout. Replacement announced shortly.

This is what Sauerland are saying as an excuse. It may be true or may not be. The fact is these money are not too much for someone who needs to fly his entire team from US in the last minute. I am not saying that McCall has earned more but Pulev deserves better opponent at that stage. They are trying to feed him with a guy ranked number 230 before the biggest fight in his career against number 1 in the world. At that point they should be able to give Pulev someone who is as tall as Wlad and who can give 12 full rounds. I am kind of unhappy with the developments, how is Pulev supposed to prepare with such opponents, whom on top of all are being picked and changed last minute?

If Pulev does fight Waldo soon the sparring would be far more important than this fight anyway. This fight is all about bringing in some chump that will keep Pulev active while making him look good. Pulev sparred Price recently, that would have been more useful than a fight with Mini McCall.

It would, but Sauerland are not risking Price in an official bout versus Pulev. They plan to rebuild Price, not finish him off. I admit, I am getting disapointed of how Sauerland have managed Pulev since the Ustinov win. He does not get good fights and the Wlad bout is yet nowhere to be seen.

Pulev already beat Dimitrenko, Ustinov and Thompson. What more do you want from him? There is no other heavyweight more deserving a crack at the title. Why jeopardize his ranking, when he has worked so hard to get there?

Thats not Sauerlands fault. K2 is ingnoring him.

There are ready for Wlad and waiting for him. Wlad should be stripped if he takes a fight with somebody else after Leapai.
So far i have never seen Wlad even mention Pulev or a potential fight with him.

Stick him in there with Daddy McCall. I'm sure he'd be grateful for the opportunity at this stage of his career. Or even Shannon Briggs...at least he'll be "in shape"
