hatton was destroyed before that. but only being able to weigh 5lbs over the limit the day of the fight almost cost him his life.

Lester Ellis v Barry Michael, 1985 for the IBF junior lightweight title. Lester was a good, gutsy young fighter with talent, was IBF champ after not too many fights. Barry Michael was an ageing cagey veteran who at that stage was never ever going to be given a title shot. However personal feelings got in the way and Lester gave Barry a shot. Michael was too experienced and won a a very competitive fight over 15 rounds. Lester had his moments after that fight but he never reached those heights again.

roger mayweather said it in an interview after the fight. the question then becomes....'how would roger know?' he's floyd sr's brother. floyd sr trained hatton for that fight.

i watched that interview and it confirmed my suspicions about there being some sort of non disclosed weight stipulation in the contracts for pac fights. then something funny happened not long after the video was posted. it was removed...and i haven't been able to find a trace of it since. that only reconfirmed my suspicion.

i thought he lost the first one too....but he beat castillo clearly in that rematch.

i wouldn't say his opponent selection dropped...but he has seemed to navigate cautiously since.

    Mayweather clearly won both fights

    115-113 for the 1st fight

    116-112 for the second.

It's as clear as day for those who know boxing. :tong

that was the fight that started all the speculation.

oscar wieghed in at 147 for that fight and a pound less the day of if my memory serves me correctly. who does that??? willingly? no one.

win or lose....oscar stood to make money off of pac because of manny accepting the brief case full of cash. oscar and arum are in court now because arum hasn't revealed the numbers for pacs fights.

i think he came in 145, 2 pounds under the limit. then he only gained 2 pounds after the weigh-in. roach was saying oscar had iv marks on his forearm the day of the fight

    insane..but no one questioned it.

how many times has that happened? floyd typically gains a very few pounds after weigh ins...but i can't ever recall him or anyone else ever losing any weight after a weigh in.

oscar hadn't been at the weight in almost 9yrs. insane.
