Assessing Ward vs Kovalev....

It's not quite so clear. Main Events claim all terms were agreed to and the fight was agreed to -- a judge will have to decide who is telling the truth.

In business and in courts it does not take a signed contract to be enforceable. Even verbal agreements hold up in court, provided there is a credible witness or witnesses, and can compel a party into an action by court order. If someone verbally agrees to repay a loan or to perform an action for money and fails to do so, a court can remedy this breech of verbal "contract". Emails (i.e. proof) of both sides agreeing on terms, if credible, may be treated as a contract and may be enforceable as a contract. We shall see. I doubt Main Events will push it to court, even if they have a case. Should a court compels the fight, It could still be scuttled. Adonis could fake an injury, for example...

Anyway, hopefully Main Events can willing get Adonis or Pascal in the ring, as they are trying to do. My original point was that they are not just feeding him cans. They are and have been trying to get big names to fight him, but apparently Kovalev doesn't have the ratings to meet people's money demands.

 

You gotta realize he was a nobody himself 15 months ago, and in the mean time crushed a beltholder, a should be champ, and couple of fringe contenders. He wants Champ Stevenson yesterday. That's not being moved slow.

Great thread and I agree with you 100 percent. The same people like FARMBOXER that hypes Kovalev bashes Wilder and the reason is skin color. Kovalev has fought bums just like Wilder has. But Kovalev is white so he gets the hype. Kovalev is fun to watch just like Wilder is but lets be honest both of them are not tested and both has been floored with head gear on. Sad we have so many racist on this forum.

I don't think Kov is some p4p talent, but that comparison is dumb as a rock. Wilder is getting flack for a hugely protected record. Kovalev is not protected at all. He was a total no name 15 months ago, beat a couple of top tenners and a few top 20, and has been calling out the champ, who ran to another network. Where do you see similarities, WTF?

Yeah but you have to admit Kovalev has not been in any risky fights. They both have had there glass jaws exposed with headgear on. They both have serious punching power. Ranking wise you are right maybe Kovalev has fought higher ranked fighters. But fact is they both seem to have glass jaws waiting to be exposed.

 

Ward is Kovelavs biggest test but he still gets beat.
