Yawn. You think prime De La Hoya was at middleweight? You sir have just proved that you don't know jack about boxing.
Sounds like you need to get a grip of yourself and accept Sturm didn't win any of those 3 fights :yep
Len. He's the type of guy who I imagine to wear rain macs, carry a Tesco for life carrier bag and boot dead pigeons. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=w...%2F02%2Fweird-faces-guy-can-make.html;600;600
He lost money big-time on the Barker "fight". Essentially he bought Barkers title - to replace the one he was wrongfully deprived of against Flapper Geale. Felix was counting on the Barker rematch to recoup some of that. Bad form that, from Barker. Fooled an awful lot of people though. Remember all that "hard man" act at the weight in, pushing into Sturms face? Getting his travelling fans all worked up at the weigh-in - and for what? For a million of Sturms euros ,thats what! Splash! Barker got off very lightly for that little farce. Anybody else would have been crucified - but Baffling Barren Ducker was/is the darling of the London media, Sky Sports etc and can do no wrong in the eyes of his adoring London-English fans.
He was clearly injured and conned his fans for a cash out payday. This much is clear. Whether or not he'd have a chance of beating sturm had he been healthy is naturally a source of debate. Is this worse than Felix conning his fans into buying into joke fights like this? You say he has unfinished business with Solimann but why did he even fight him the first time?
sturm lost to geale and wasn't soliman ranked number 1 ? maybe thats why they fought the first time .
Injury? What injury? ''...the biggest victory of Felix Sturms long and storied career.'' http://www.eastsideboxing.com/2014/felix-sturm-the-comeback/
Sugar - credit is due to you for not shirking from this Barker issue. Fair play. :thumbsup Synephrine Sam was a highly-ranked contender for Sturms title - and you surely wouldnt call him a soft touch. He is a stylistic nightmare for anyone. No-one else wants to fight him, he is very hard to deal with.
Well the Barker fight was an obvious farce. There are no pensions in boxing and those people who supported him wouldn't care if he was broke in a dead end job in a few years time so I see exactly why he did what he did. Does that make it right? No. Might I do the same in his position? Maybe. Then, my questions is if Soliman got a shot based upon ranking why was his number one contender/mandatory so painstakingly avoided for so long? As usual Felix sought out the worst opponent he thought he could get away with no?
