So a fight where Pacquiao was huge favorite to win on points, was fixed...so Pacquiao could win on points???

People talking about Clottey not being active enough in the ring, clearly had never actually watched Clottey fight. Thats HOW he fights.

He was tailor made for a guy who constantly throws punches like Pac.

I cant believe people still bring this **** up.

Clottey didn't even try and still dished out more punishment to Pacquiao than Rios did

your kind of missing my point.

margarito continued to fight after the pacquiao fight until he couldnt because of his physical impairment.

cotto continued to fight after pacquiao and is still getting big matches..

why did clottey disappear? can you explain that...

winky was old as **** and pretty much hinted at retirement post fight vs PW. Clottey didn't do this.

dude just went back to africa and disappeared. Everyone in here is missing the point. I'm not talking about pacquiao or his performance, he looked great in the fight TBH. But there is no explaining the fact that clottey literally vanished for 4 years when prior to the pacquiao fight this dude was maybe the biggest **** talker in the sport.

I've wondered about this too. He's a solid fighter who could beat a lot of current Welters and compete with any current JMW. Yet, he remains on the fringes of the sport. It doesn't really make sense, for someone with the level of self confidence he's shown throughout his career.

I'm of the belief, he held back against Pacquiao. Maybe he got stage fright, didn't want to take punishment, ate some stew that gave him the shitz, or he was paid to keep Pacquiao looking like a "giant killer." Whatever the reason, he did not fight HIS fight, IMO.

perfect answer. sums up everything I'm trying to say. People are acting as if I'm trying to slight pacquiao. I'M NOT! All I'm saying is clottey pulled off something fishy.

maybe he doesnt have the chin that margo or rios have.

not really. Clottey wouldn't sell any ppvs or sell out any arenas. He doesn't have a nation of fans behind him and american's have never really supported an african fighter or a defense first fighter with the exception of floyd.

How do you make the leap from he disappeared to the fight being fixed? Clottey didn't want to risk getting hurt in there. No conspiracy, it wasn't worth it to him.
