A boxing count is 10 seconds long, not 11 therefore if the boxer is still on the groud at the count of 9 then he will be counted out even if he starts to rise as it's called 'counted out in the act of rising'.

 

Thats 3 successive 1-punch stoppages for Frampton against top-level opposition. Has any world champion in boxing matched this?

Yeah he sure went down badly after being hit by big punching Kiko Martinez didn't he, what a fool you are Frampton has a solid quality chin if his chin was **** he would have been stopped by Martinez.

 

Fight was SBW, 5 divisions down from that is minnimumweight. The lowest Cazares has fought at is light flyweight (4 divisions down) and the last time he was there was six years ago. He's been boxing at SBW for 2 years and had a deal in place to fight LSC as well as having one of those pointless Silver belts for the past year.

Not trying to hype Cazares up as being one of the better SBWs (he really isn't). But don't make it sound like Frampton was padding his record with a blown up strawweight. Only reason Frampton was fighting Cazares was because of his high WBC ranking and the potential resultant LSC fight.

You don't need to push your agenda so hard that it sounds like you watched a different fight.

It is a 100% bonafide stoppage. KO or TKO is debatable, as in my opinion it was a TKO but others seem to argue the waving is the "ten count" (which it isn't, and especially isn't in a scenario like this).

The ref sucked. Admit it. EDIT: He could have made the whole thing WAYYYYY less controversial by properly administering a ten count in the manner it is done 97% of the time (this was clearly in that "3%" of shitty ref jobs during a KD... it happens).

Nobody is taking away the pretty nice win by Frampton.

Al Haymon will not allow Santa Cruz to fight Carl Frampton.

Frampton-Rigondeaux is the fight that will happen. Arum isn't protecting his guy the way Haymon/Shaefer are protecting theirs.

 

The ten count is a ten count. The cadence of the count depends on the official. That said, Cazares had his attention focused elsewhere, and wasn't looking at the official when he reached nine, or the gesture that followed ("ten"). He only stood up after that.

It's a perfectly legitimate KO, if slightly unusual in terms of how it played out.

 

Cazares got to his knee at about 4 seconds at most, not 5 like the ref had it. I agree if Cazares was hurt the ref should stop it before the 10 count, but to say Cazares was "out of it" like one of the UK commentators stated, lmao, is just comical. Frampton I think would of gone on to win, but in a more competitive hard earned fight, get some experience. In the long run these British stoppages don't do anyone any good and look pretty bad.
