Ward sure ran from Stevenson after Stevenson called him out...........Stevenson said he would fight Ward at 168, but Ward still refused to fight him.

 

Edison is a hard puncher at 160 not 175 and Edison has no freaken skill period

He isnt scared but he will have a hard time lasting vs KOvalev let alone Stevenson. People that thinks Stevenson will lose vs KOvalev havent had a punch from him. Guy has bricks in his gloves

Nah...TBH it could easily go either way, which is what makes it such an appealing fight, still hoping it gets made sooner or later.

Ward - Kovalev is a tricky pick - those saying that it'd be an easy night for Ward are either being delibertely obtuse or really don't know boxing. Fights at this kinda level are never 'easy' - specially when you're dealing with a guy who can really hurt you if you lose concentration for a fraction of a second. Simple fact is that Kovalev has never looked in the slightest trouble against a solid calibre of opponents (LHW sadly suffering a real shortage of elite names) and dominated some good names.

Ward is of course a superb boxer, and I would expect him to be able to blunt and neutralise much of Kovalevs game - but Kovalev tends to find a way of getting through, coming from odd angles or with unusual combos from unexpected ranges - and when it only takes one.... well? Can Ward keep Kovalev at bay for 12 rounds - I just don't know. At 175 (Kovalev insists he can't go down to 168 ) Ward might not have the physical edge he's used to and the same ability to roughouse.

Very good fight. Too close for me to call - this one (like Kovalev - Stevenson) needs deciding in the ring. TBH whilst I in no way underestimate Wards abilities I think there are many who overestimate them - he's a human being, not some kinda boxing god. I don't believe Ward has yet faced the kind of challenge Kovalev presents - is it a problem he could solve? Perhaps, but I ain't gonna bet on it.

Miranda? Abe? Kovalev ain't the same kinda creature at all. Let's hope this s#it gets made...great fight for fans and the sport - these are the kinda fights we need to get made.
