yeah ring championships dont count...they cant just make up titles to add to their collection...the belt is owned by a magazine thats owned by a promoter...as corrupt as the other ABC organizations are, at least they do force mandatory once in a while, RING doesnt

    World titles - 6:
    WBC 112
    IBF 122
    WBC 130
    WBC 135
    WBO 147
    WBC 154

    Lineal titles - 4:
    112 w/ 1 defense
    126 w/ 2 defenses
    130 w/ 0 defenses
    140 w/ 0 defenses

If you count both as "titles," then Pacquiao is an 8 division champion. If you do not count Ring Magazine or media opinionated "lineal titles," then Pacquiao is a 6 division champion.

The Ring and IBO don't count, so no. Still a fantastic achievement, but it's not 8-divisions.

We can also see some hypocrisies forming here...

Many bias fanboys seem to have made recent claims that Mayweather should not be given credit for his earning of a lineal title at 154 over Alvarez because it was fought at a 152 pound catchweight. Those same people also do not count Pacquiao's world titles at 147 or 154 pounds as both were fought at 145 and 150 pound catchweights, respectively. And for THOSE people, Pacquiao has only earned true world titles in 4 divisions, 6 if you count Ring Magazine or lineal titles.

    Zero credibility.

Everything has been broken down perfectly in this thread.

No need to go out of your way to try to make the IBO title look legitimate.

Most everybody counts lineal titles and fights at catchweights.

It's okay. Everybody agrees Pacquiao is an 8 division champion by some definition. You don't need to go into damage control mode.

No, because your posts are so clearly agenda-driven... I don't resort to name-calling someone on the internet who I've never met in my life nor spoken to.

    I say 8 too.

    Good, we are in agreement.

Edit: I was saying "Zero credibility" to you using Wikipedia as a source. I would say go to college and see how fast that gets you a failed grade, but nowadays the same applies to high schools... that is how reliable Wikipedia is. You obviously don't know anything about it or else you wouldn't have cited it in an attempt to boost your opinions' argument.

Pretty obvious what I was referring to when saying "Zero credibility."
