    For another thread:

The joke that was the vacant WBC 154 pound title contested at 150 pounds against a morbidly undeserving Antonio Margarito, who had never won a title at 154 before nor ever been ranked in the top 10 at any point in his career.

But it was a WBC title. And Pac won it.

He's not an 8 weight world champion. Most of his championships are paper titles. Great fighter and always one of the best at whatever weight he fought though.

Didn't Margs fight David Santos for a 154 title, or was that at 147?

Edit: He did fight Daniel Santos for the WBO 154 title and lost after the fight was stopped due to accidental cut. Of course this has no bearing on what you were saying, but that's just another reason ABC orgs can't be taken seriously.

    It's up to debate.

He won the ring titles at FW and JWW against the number one fighters at the time in Barrera and Hatton.

Barrera never accepted the WBC belt after beating Morales and Hatton got stripped of his IBF and WBA belts..

It's just an obscure situation.. Hatton got stripped of his IBF and WBA belts for not fighting the mandatories.. beat Malignaggi who was the IBF champ at the time.. yet the IBF stripped Malignaggi for whatever reason when he fought Hatton..

Barrera beat Erik Morales who was the WBC champ.. and Barrera didn't accept the WBC belt.

Pac should of been a 7 time champ.. the title at JMW was a joke of a fight.. but I suppose you can count that too since it was for the WBC strap..

    This.

Similar to how Cotto should have been a unified champion with Clottey at 147 and how Mayweather should have been a unified champion with Corrales at 130.

    All bull****.

Anyone who follows or cares enough to look into it can see what it is.

Pac beat the best fighters at 126 and 140. Which is better than beating a titlist who isn't the best fighter at a weight.

All X amount of belts in X amount of weight classes hold little value with more weight classes and 4 major belts per class available. That's why Oscar Floyd Manny, etc title reigns are not impressive because the vast majority of their belts are paper belts won against paper champions.

The belt is only worth as much as the guy you took it form

IF you count the one at 126.....where he didnt win a title.

I mean, how do you decide?

The fact is, he didnt win a belt at 126

Some of the belt's he won against chumps politically placed to build up the Pacman hype train.

There is a difference between belt holder, and a legit world champ

Whether Paquaio has 6 or 7 titles it really doesnt matter , his resume still shits all over Punk Mayweathers resume.
Manny is a REAL champion Floyd is merely a paper champion. Floyd counts the cowardly cold ****ing of a defenseless Victor Ortiz as a KO win Thats says it all ROFLMAO

the only vacant title he won was the 154 fiasco. that was really bad legacy wise to fight margarito for a wbc title.

but he did win and in the records hes a 6 weight world champ albeit a weak one.
his lack of title defenses makes it hard for me to rate him all time at any weight.

he had 1 112 defense cant say he was the best at 112. he had 4 title defenses at 122 cant say hes the best there based on that. and his work at 147 while respectable isnt all-time either.
