Why does Pulev always look 2" shorter than fighters he is 'taller' than?

    Pulev is billed as 6'4 1/2

    In his last 3 fights he has fought Perkovic (6'4), Abell (6'4) and Thompson (6'5)

    Every time he has looked the shorter man visibly and vs Thompson by about 2 or 3 inches!

    Does he have an incredibly wide, low fighting stance a la David Haye ... Or is his height simply inaccurate?

    I don't think it is just me either, Barry Jones on Boxnation spent about 30 seconds saying pretty much the same thing ... That he doesn't look his height.

    1.94cm or 6.3 1/2 .... 6'4 1/2 makes him 1.96 which is incorrect.
    Why is that so important?

    Because his next fight is Wlad .


    And if he genuinely is 6 4 1/2 as he is listed by Boxrec and on all TV shows then Wlad will have very little height advantage making it a much more competitive fight.

    However, I think Pulev is more like 6'2 1/2 judging how he looked vs Thompson in the ring and Thompson is smaller than Wlad.

    So he will find it difficult to land his jab on Wlad.

    i think we need to give Puluev props for giving that guy his 24th loss last night.
    regardless of his height, he takes on all comers, no matter how many losses they already have

    Not much height difference at all between Thompson and Chagaev actually . Probably his fighting stance

    Looks like his height is correct at 6' 4½" (194cm) as listed...
    Thinking he's only 6' 2½" (189cm) is silly.

    Feet is a unit of measure, as is yard, inch, etc.

    The term 2 feet is not the size of the man's foot you knucklehead. It's 24 inches.
    Us folk in the west could go head and start measuring folks in inches, but it's easier to imagine if you say someone is 6' rather than saying he's 72".:rofl

    He looks about less than an inch shorter than Thompson, which sounds right.

    Maybe it's how he fights, he tends to keep his feets slightly wide to plant more.

    Haye looked like half Valuev tall but only because he was constantly super crouched down.

    I absolutely KNEW that photo with Thompson at the weigh in would be bought up :lol:

    Thompson is in essentially bare feet and Pulev in super stocky trainers.

    I'll post the full length photo in a second.

    It may just be his stance as a I alluded too, but I don't think it is. As I said Boxnation were going on about it too loads.

    Maybe 6'2 1/2 is unfair tbf, but he is not even 6'4, let alone 6'4 1/2. Probably just over 6'3.

    I was basically trying to gauge if Wlad will have a size advantage.

    On paper there is only an inch but I am sure it will look a lot bigger in the flesh as I think Pulev's height has been exaggerated.

    Pulev is willing to fight everybody. How can he be to blame for guys ducking and pulling out on him.

    He wants the no.1 guy in the division but can't get him so i don't why he should be bashed for fighting the only guys who are willing to fight him.
