Nothing lasts forever,but you lads have done brilliantly together I hope you both have more success in the future.

 

If that's true Hearn has been in Burn's ear,Simms is Eddies mate,classless by Burns what a **** doing that

 

Eddie is mate's with Sims - recommends his fighters to train with him for camps (Campbell) or sometimes permanently (Joshua). Doesn't look good on Eddie at all if he's moved to him.....

 

Burns has got the most he can out of his career through hard work and a trainer in Billy Nelson that helped extract that.

It's his choice to go to pastures new but I really can't see him improving significantly,no matter who trains him.Nelson should be rightly proud of his work with Burns they had a great journey together.

 

That's a shame I'm sad for Billy but realistically it's probably the best decision.

 

I think this is a mistake by Ricky, unless he is planning a move down south or to the US , i cant see how another trainer can work with Ricky's personal circumstances,

However this might work out could for Billy as he can focus on a future star , i wish them both well

 

one of billys biggest criticts on here , but ricky burns over achieved massively imo and billy should be lauded for training him to be a 2 weight world champ , also the loyalty billy showed on here , even at times making hiself look bad to defend ricky , nice that theyve left on good terms , but **** me loyalty really is thin and far between today ! if burns thinks hell get better anywhere else hes kidding hiself , burns was always in amazing physical shape with billy training him , be interesting to see if he moves to 140 with a ''softer '' trainer !

 

This type of thing saddens me. That's one of the reasons I always loved Hagler.
Stuck with who got him to the show.

This case reminds me of Billy Graham and Hatton.

Hatton was never going to beat Mayweather or Pacman no matter who trained him.
Ricky was never going to beat Crawford no matter who trained him.

Both Billy's have one thing in common, they both loved their fighters and always had their best interests at heart.
To other trainers, they might be nothing more than a paycheck...

 

Chin up billy had some great results with Ricky and im sure some great memories. I believe you got the best out of him and he wont improve for the split but Im a fan of Ricky so hope it works out for both of you

 

Can't blame Ricky for wanting to try out a new trainer, he's looked really stale and almost devoid of any ideas in his recent fights. Maybe it'll do him the world of good, change of scene, freshen things up, etc. Him and Billy had a good run together but with that schooling by Crawford has come a new chapter for Burns, wish him all the best.

Hope he falls flat on his face from what I've seen billy turned a decent fighter in to a 2 weight champion and often put together a decent game plan mid way through fights wen Ricky ability was being exposed at world level and those game plans won him fights he had no right of winning
