    True.
Over the last couple of decades political conservatives have cut funding for many of the traditional sports programs, including boxing.
Since prisons are privatized now, prisons don't even offer boxing programs any more, so great like Hopkins won't emerge from there.
Still talent does exist but even then Euro-mericans have decided to cut their noses off to spite their faces.

    You're an idiot

Hatton was a WW titleholder, everyone was calling for that fight.

    Good try. :deal

And it was Hatton who called him out after Castillo. :hat

    DEAL WITH IT!!!

Well since you're already wrong about why Floyd retired it doesn't shock me that you just don't get it. You proved you're a little f*got nut hugger by not even seeing that my op was stating that he is one of the few elite but you got but hurt and had to address the part you didn't like...even though I never originally said "duck", you got your feathers up and went full ******. Then you call me a *******?

    You're just idiotic.

Please stop making stupid claims you have no idea about

Fact: Floyd ducked no man. :smoke

The problem is the sport is in decline. I mean that in regard to asking an average American parent if they would put their kid in boxing, most will say absolutely not.

Even fans of boxing, would be hesitant to put their kids in the sport, as they know the risks. Why would you want your kid to take punches? Better to have him do well in school or some other sport if they are athletically gifted.

Just go around and look for actual boxing gyms. They just aren't around as much as they used to be. I have some in the Bay Area, but not to the point where you can "go to your local boxing gym." You'll have to drive to another city to find one depending where you live, and finding a good trainer is even harder.

You'll find plenty of MMA gyms though. Today, boxing isn't even viewed as a decent discipline for self defense. I think that's wrong to think that way, but this type of thinking is prevalent: Boxing is an "old fighting style" that doesn't do well in a street fight. That will also account for its falling popularity in local gyms.

Like I said, you have no idea what you're talking about

Fight was signed after Castillo fought Hatton.

Rematch with Oscar was unnecessary. 9-3 beating for Mayweather. :rasta:smoke

Yes there's only one Floyd mayweather and I wouldn't bet against him against anyone in his era.

Yeah...The biggest money fight available was unnecessary. OK then. Floyd re-retired in June of 2008 instead of fighting oscar.
