by the time Hopkins was 32 years old he had 33 pro fights with three title defenses and his best wins were Mercado, Lipsey, and Bo James. Not exactly any edge over Golovkin. In fact Hopkins never had the opportunity to fight a highly rated fighter until he was invited into King's MW tournament. (Mind you Hopkins was even more difficult to work with when it came to making fights with other top MW's before the MW tourney).

by the time Martinez was 32 years old he hadn't even had a title fight yet, despite a record of 40-1-1. At 33 years old he fights a very shot Bunema for his first title then defends against former WW Cintron. He then has Kelly Pavlik sandwich with Paul Williams and defends against featherfisted JMW and a trio of brits.

Circumstantial you say? Martinez & Hopkins didn't have the long amateur career despite turning pro earlier than Golovkin and having more fights than Golovkin? Then it's only fair to accept that Golovkin's career was stalled for nearly two years in litigation with his former promoter.

 

If you're always right, do I smell an account bet? If Chavez wins, you go; GGG wins, I go? I'm sure you'd just roll an alt, but at least you'd retire the ill-fitting name, SweetSciGuru. Maybe comeback as ResumeGuru.

P.S. You were right about Bute, though. I always thought he was nothing special, but from what I see, GGG is a much different animal (at least since around 2010).
