Pacquiao is the only NON-American in the top five and would be one of only two in the top 10, along with Lennox Lewis. However, Lewis spoke English and Pacquiao fought very little when he arrived in the U.S.

"Manny Pacquiao broke the mold and blazed a very unique trail for the following reasons," said Mark Taffet, the senior vice president of PPV at HBO Sports. "He's not a heavyweight. He wasn't an Olympian. He's not from the very vibrant Latino or African-American demographic segments. He's not American. He's the only top non-American in that top five.

"But what he is, is a young man from the Philippines who is as humble outside the ring as he is courageous and electrifying inside of it."

    TOP PPV PERFORMERS

    1 - Floyd Mayweather jr: 12,643,000 (756,515,000 Revenue) - American.

    2 - Oscar De La Hoya: 14,081,000 (696,796,000 Revenue) - American.

    3 - Manny Pacquiao: 12,193,000 (661,061,000 Revenue) - Filipino.

    4 - Evander Holyfield: 12,583,000 (548,221,000 Revenue) - American.

    5 - Mike Tyson: 12,400,00 (545,000,000 Revenue) - American.

yeh but lets be realistic here

PPV numbers and revenue are a flawed method of judging stars

lets not forget about inflation and how expensive things are these days compared to yester year

mike tyson in the 90's pulled in 30 million for one fight...... thats better than anything even maywreather gains of his PPV's

    in real terms

manny pacquaio is a big time ppv star the kid has been in countless 1m mill ppvs at least 10 and it was not from trash talking or what he does outside the ring it was purely his action in the ring

hmm, 2 more fights and he is gonna eclipse dela hoya.

definitely, before his carrer is over, he will be no. 2.

if pedjr mans up, pac will be all time ppv draw.

of course the salesman is a top and will do everything to duck pac. that's his only relevance to boxing, ppv buys.

    pedjr= good salesman, **** resume.:good

Pacquiao who is Filipino and doesn't talk trash that also speaks broken english will actually pass De La Hoya in PPV numbers in his next few fights.

    Not bad.

ali is still making tons off his name to this day.

dela hoya has his own promotional co.

tyson is doing great in showbiz.

pedjr doesnt even have a cameo role in a movie. not even shitty endorsement deals.

pac is by far the top earner if you count everything he earned.

even his entry into politics, showbiz, music, tv was because of his popularity in boxing.

i wonder if pedjr's figure was a result of including the 2.5m ppv buys of oscar-pedjr.

pedjr was oscar's slave in that fight and should count on oscar's numbers.

I don't have a problem with people flipping burgers. I have a problem with clowns like you who think that flipping burgers is a negative.

But that won't stop people from remembering that Pac was knocked unconscious for 4 minutes.

Not quite, floyd made over 80mill versus canello. if you converted that 30mill from 1990 it is just over 53mill.

your point is valid because we have to look at these things in real terms, meaning 2014 dollars. If we did that I am sure fighters from the 20s would be up there, ali and SRL would be contenders as well. Without the adjustment for inflation it is impressive what Pac and Floyd have been able to do today. Pac has a style and background story that sells. while Floyd may not have the most fan friendly style it is incredible that a slick defensive fighter has been able o become the king of the box-office with less fights PPV fights than both ODLH and Pac. Pac's only Mistake is sticking with Arum to long . . . he could have made more money going his own way like both Oscar and Floyd

Nothing wrong with fast food although I said I never wanted to do it and thus far haven't.. Started out working retails though, which isn't to great either, but moved on to a better job after several years of that.

Yeah, Pac was knocked out for 4 minutes, but he got back up, showed class, and came back to fight again.
