Ahh Seamus... I see you are the true know-nothing type that needs to toot their own horn... Be embarrassed for yourself... The guys I mentioned have far superior jabs than your hero... So let me get this, when we don`t agree with your `expert` analysis on Vlad`s jab ( and most of us do not) we are all know nothing trolls ? In that case, thank you so much for educating all of us trolls that don`t agree with you...
Agreed ! All these aforementioned fighters had better jabs than Vlad. These new guys are funny... They look at Vlad lazy pushing his jab to keep distance and think THAT`S what a true jab looks like. When confronted with comparisons about other truly great jabs, they get their feelings hurt and start with the insults... Holmes, Page,Willimas their jabs had snap ! And were an offensive weapon as well...
Exactly. And when Wlad wants snap on his jab, he uses it. No idea, what pawing and push business is about. Wlad regularly rocks guys with his jab.
I don't know what your thinking. Like Seamus said, you clearly don't understand the jab, and made a bit of a fool of yourself. Your as bad as Dino, who was foolishly was trying to find flaws in a picture of a text book jab. You don't sound smart, you sound clueless. If you don't like Wlad, you'll have to look elsewhere for faults. His jab is one of the best. You think you know more about boxing than Emmanuel Steward?
I don`t like his style of jab, sorry. it is NOT in the class of a Holmes,Lewis,Bowe or even Foreman/ I actually did get to meet and talk with the late, great Emanuel Steward... Goody Petronelli was a dear friend and we trained there.until he closed. So I guess if I am not enamored with Vlad`s `jab` I am the foolright ? I was taught from the old school of using the jab. Not hung out fomr the chest, pawed then pushed out. But, either from the hip, shot hard, fast and upward. Or from the shoulder, straight out, fully extended with snap at the end. I don`t see that in Vlad. His jab serves his purpose, extended it,keep that safe distance and protect that `chin`... But, it is NOT a tablesetting punishing and aggressive jab . Holmes jab would bust up his opponent, fast and sharp. Vlad`s is nowhere near that. And if you think it is even in the conversation with Holmes then you and Seamus are the fools ! BTW, Sanders didn`t seem to bothered by it
His style of jab? As if he only has one way of throwing. Wlad throws many different jab varients. You are zeroing in on the pawing and measuring, that all the guys you listed did regularly as well, especially Lewis and Foreman. It's not as if we don't have footage of the man. Wlad certainly throws fully extended fast, hard, sharp, snapping jabs and quite frequently. And pretending he does not is rather foolish. Well, if Sanders is your only impression of Wlad I can see why you are having trouble.
From the same fight. "But, either fomr the hip, shot hard, fast and upward." http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00691/sport-graphics-2008_691136a.jpg " Or form the shoulder, straight out, fully extended with snap at the end." http://i.usatoday.net/sports/_photos/2008/02/23/fight-topper.jpg "But, it is NOT s tablesetting punishing and aggressive ." http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/article/media_slots/photos/001/102/483/hi-res-79960684-wladimir-klitschko-of-ukraine-lands-a-left-jab-to-the_crop_exact.jpg?w=650&h=433&q=85 These are not isolated instances, this is typical Wlad. Do you wish to stand by your claim that he only pushes the jab out and paws? Is is not possible you drew a hasty conclusion off limited footage or are just maybe exaggerating the pawing in your mind to the point its all you recall him doing?
Rating jabs is a bit subjective as many factors must be considered. There is technique, speed, range ( Length of arm ), impact of the punch, accuracy of the punch, and ability to use it offensively and defensively. I would say Wlad rates highly in each area.
Agreed those 3 guys Jabs was as powerful as some guys righthands...im gonna give credit to Foreman, P.Thomas,Bowe, Tony Tucker, Buster Douglas,Ali, Tony Tubbs, Liston, Micheal Moorer ,Holyfield, and Lewis....Moorer was really righthanded that right jab had serious power thats what really bothered Holyfield in the 1st fight....The Klitscho jabs were not like these jabs Nope....no way no how...all these jabs served as a weapon to shear their opponents to death and in Moorer's case it was his prime power punch all while being fast with snap....the Klitscho's jabs are distance measurers more than a damaging weapon...their bad techique ensures that their jabs did not cause the physical damage as any of these other guys jabs...it works in this extremely watered down boxing era....most those fought each other and these weapons were on display against prime competition as well....
Great factual post ! Solid point in how you say the Klit`s use their jab, they don`t do damage. More of a smokescreen to set up power shots. Buster Douglas had a FAR better jab than either Klit. And Moorer razor sharp jab, shot form his southpaw stance was a major weapon in his arsenal. Holmes (for example) came out to do damage with his jab. It wasn`t a mask for anything, and it certainly wasn`t meant to keep his opponent safely away from his chin. I get that Vlad is chinny,so he needs that `safe` distance. But his jab is not the Excalibur that Holmes and some other great heavies yielded...
Look, I`m not saying he doesn't use his effectively when he fights... But, to try and mention amongst, Holmes,Foreman,Lewis,Bowe Holyfield etc,is a stretch...Even Ali`s had a ton of snap on it. Klit`s do NOT,have good snap on them, fact...
