No, not at all. And if that was the first and only excuse we'd heard out of his mouth I doubt anywhere near as much would have been said about it. But getting fans hopes up, and coming up with this demand or that demand every time the fight seemed like it might potentially happen when he clearly wanted no part of dealing with Arum at any point just ****s me off. Floyd's fans always say that the fight could have happened if Pac had agreed to one thing or another, but since Floyd's said he won't deal with Arum because of money owed to him from over a decade ago it throws those claims out the window. We only have Floyds word that the fight would have happened if those demands were met in the timeframe he laid out. However Floyds word now is that he won't deal with Arum at all and Pac needs to leave. That puts the legitimacy of his earlier claims into question. It's not as if Floyd and Arum fell out during the last 2 or 3 years of negotiating, they've hated each other since Floyd left Top Rank and before. Basically Floyd knew he would never sign the fight from the very start if Arum is the true reason. And he's led his fans, and pacs round in circles for years. Why? To keep his name in the headlines and keep selling PPV's against mainly average opposition.
Pac was set to become a free agent at the end of 2014 and Bradley was set to become a free agent after his next fight. However, before Bradley vs. Pacquiao II became officially official earlier in 2014, both were forced into signing multi-year contract extensions.
floyd was also seen meandering around the apartment that manny was staying in at one time. it also appeared floyd, just like other famous celebrities, wanted to visit pacquiao but couldn't muster up the courage.
I get what you're saying and I agree with much of it, but if my old boss owed me $1000, and I had a way to make $50,000 that required working with (not for) my boss to get it, I think I could forgive the $1000...
Are you sure about that? I thought Pac held off on re-signing with Arum. That was the last I heard about it back in February.
Nope. He signed an extension that goes until the end of 2016, if I'm not mistaken. Here's one story on it: http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5389...t-fight-floyd-mayweather-top.htm#.U0WrqPldU4M --- Hey, I'd be happy to be wrong here, believe that.
The good news is that it's from an unconfirmed source and not from any mainstream outlets. I have a feeling that if it really happened, Bob would be happy to flaunt that and it would be all over the mainstream boxing sites. So we can still hope that it was just a rumor.
Maybe will see May vs Tim if Tim beats Pac. I know most will say this fight would never happen because Tim is with Top Rank, but Tim is not Pac, and will probably ask Arum to step aside if May agreeds to fight him. Pac could have done the same, but Arum is his daddy and Pac don't want to disrespect him...lol.
I've seen it casually referenced in multiple articles since the news actually broke. I'm pretty sure it's a 100% done deal. And of course Arum and Top Rank aren't going to discuss the 2 year extension. They know that everyone else knows that is saying "at least 2 more years of no Pacquiao/Mayweather." And that is a selling point to both of their fights, especially Pacquiao at this point.
Name me all of the Golden Boy vs. Top Rank fights that have been made in the last 3 years. I'll start: Lara vs. Vanes Gamboa vs. Ponce de Leon Please, continue...
