I remember being at a north east boxing show in the 1990s when the two were introduced from the ringside as having staged the greatest heavyweight fight seen in England. One of them wore a cowboy hat and neither were recognisable to their ring days. I thought it was either a Eubank fight in Whitley bay against a spaniard or the calzaghe Reid fight in Newcastle.

Leotis Martin died of injuries suffered against Liston. It was a delayed reaction but that's often what happens against Liston's opponents if you look them up later.

Could have been the Eubank fight, July 29th 1995.
Martin was alive. He died 4 months later.

    Calzaghe-Reid was 1999 I think. Martin couldn't make it.

Well you will always be able to remember when Martin died now.

My partner was born on March the 8th, the date of FOTC, but not that year!
