Obviously it is possible for a better fighter to come along but, even if a fighter came along beat everyone from fly weight to heavyweight you will get them annoying nostalgic ****ers who refuse to believe what their eyes tell them, you know the type, the ones who say dempsey would steam roll tyson and gene tunney would do lewis etc.
so what exactly would it take ? no one is ever going to fight 200 and odd fights again but then again no one would get away with fighting 75 % of the fighters he fought these days either

Prob not, nostalgia and the fact most of SRRs greatest feats were without a camera on him will always make sure that he remains the greatest, soon there won't be too many people about who either covered his career or saw him fight thus securing him as the greatest.

Although Im Not a PAC fan his feats in the modern era will be hard to beat and I'd be very surprised if anyone surpassed those and if they do then The GOAT term maybe kicked about

Absolutely not the fighting game has changed too much. It doesn't' matter how good a fighter is, no fighter today will put together the kind of record that Sugar Ray did because they simply don't fight enough.

How is a boxer today supposed to fight 200 fights.

Not possible, unless boxing reverts back to the old platform of 15 rounders, fighting frequently and old school gloves. That and more hungry quality fighters.

    why wouldn't it be possible?
It's not like they have to take 6 to 12 month breaks between fights. Not every fight has to be PPV or even televised.
Many opponents take short notice fights and if the boxer is good enough, why wouldn't he fight on a once a month average?

Sugar Ray Robinson had much higher quality of competition than any other boxer in history despite having 200 fights so its pretty much impossible

this is what people cant get their heads around, not that you are right, you are completely the oposite.
fighters used to fight far inferior oposition a lot more often, hence why they had a massive amount of wins but when they reached the top tier their records balanced out.if you took the massive amount of garbage fighter in them days fought then it would give you a lot truer reflection of how good they where.mann get flack for jumping divisions and fighting world champons, floyd gets the same for fighting what may be in some peoples eyes the weaker of a few champions.look through any fighters record of that era and the truth of the matter is their records where massively inflated with bums.the fact of the matter is srr never fought anyone as good as srl or hearns and if he did he would struggle,he gets massive credit for lamotta, srl and hearns would murder lamotta and that is fact

Yes, it's possible. Jones possibly could have done it if his attitude was different.

boxing has shifted alot since the SRR days. no more gruling 15 round fights.. no more fighting every few weeks or months ... gone are the days of 200+ fights most fighters dont even get close to 100.. id say with the way the sport has shifted we will never see anyone topple SRR and i think its nice... id love to see current fighters fight in the times of SRR it would be a great test

    NO.
The climate in the US is much different then yesterday, and that environment shaped the greatest boxer in world, SRR.
However, the way things work in today's plastic, Steroid, media controlled environment, it is possible that a media hype will be created that exceeds the reality of Sugar Ray Robinson.
