It is different though. In the Kovalev example for instance (by his account) he took a knee following a bodyshot from GGG, but Golovkin was in fight fettle whereas Kovalev was recently back from holiday and just starting camp.

Furthermore, in sparring a guy might take a knee or a breather cos they know it doesn't matter (spcially against a guy they're never likely to fight), whereas they'd just grit their teeth and battle through a similar shot in a critical fight.

It should be a standard assumption that a sparring stoppage is just that...sparring footage can give us some idea of relative skillsets but unless we know the full circumstances can't be relied on to make any kind of realistic prediction.

Emanuel Steward used to talk about an ESPN level alcoholic clubfighter named Bernard Mayes who used to kick Tommy Hearns ass in sparring every day.

Indeed, Sturm, Murray, Geale and probably Sergio are avoiding GGG like plague.

It doesn't matter, GGG is a future ATG.
    He probably won't be beaten.

    He should've faced Ward.
Along with Ward, Golovkin and Mayweather are far and away in front of the rest of them.
