In hindsight, was Sir Joseph Calzaghe's win over Bernard Hopkins an enormous one?

An ENORMOUS win wouldve been if Calzaghe beat the real Champion of the World, Sven Ottke.

Bernard Hopkins is just one of those overhyped american cans that built a career on beating overrated welterweights, like that bum Marvin Hagler.

Bernard Hopkins is a nobody and wisely avoided the real Champion Sven Ottke for all his pathetic career.

So do I give Calzaghe credit for fighting an american hypejob bum that couldve been his grandfather just to avoid the real Champion and People's Champion Sven "Das Phantom" Ottke? Hell no, no credit given... That cokehead shouldve been ashamed of himself...

    it was a "meh" win

Hopkins is terrible, so beating him is no big achievement

I rate it as calzaghe's best win because Hopkins was still world class, and I would back that version of Hopkins to beat any version of Kessler
I wouldn't call it "enormous" - that would have to be reserved for jermain taylor, the man who actually dethroned the king

Huge, and gets bigger every time Poppy wins. Joe came into the Lions Den, got off the Floor in round 1 adjusted by the end of round 4 and outboxed Hopkins going away.

Calzaghe embarrassed Hopkins in that fight. Anyone who thinks Hopkins won that fight obviously does not have the mental faculties to judge a boxing match.

Hopkins is a motherf*cker. Except for Jones, I have to say he's arguably the best W on the resumes of the few who beat him, and I hate that ****. Very good win for Calzaghe.

Calzaghe is the King Of The Brit Bums.

He is the prime receipent of the Bristish famous corrupt officiating and the real kicker is, he needed that officiating against a slew of bums.

For some every fighter from outside the US of A is a bum, even when they beat their favorite fighters asses. Bit sad really.

But a lot of fans from other nations seem to have issues too, overrating their fighters by a mile. It's just how things work around here.

Back on point. Slappy Joe was a really good fighter indeed.
