Loriga showed determination in that opening session, anyway - but nothing to suggest that he can do us all the favor of laying Skeete out. (neither does his scant record of six kayos in 32 outings...)

 

I had one like that, but then it got bought out by some MMA people. :sad2

 

Round 2

Skeete is allowing Loriga to walk onto the jab, impaling his own face on it. Loriga's head is jerked back, forced to stare at the ceiling as Skeete pushes through with the left jab all while dancing around, base wide. Loriga keeps galloping in sidelong with the same old 1-2, never making any pace adjustment. More counters jabs by Skeete.

Round 3

Loriga walks forward, using a few drop and roll movements as he nears but not affecting Skeete's defensive rhythm. Skeete is moving left, far enough offline that Loriga has to lunge with his jab. Skeete is waiting and timing his jab to fly up past Loriga's, countering on the pass by and then jerking his face back and covering but not tucking his chin. Skeete lands double jabs and melts away in the span of Loriga reaching out and missing a single.

Round 4

Skeete is dropping in a multitude of light jabs from beyond Loriga's reach, hunkering down and playing it cutesy. Loriga marches onward, accomplishing nothing. Skeete begins to warm up to his task, swirling in and placing a chopping right hand in behind the jab. Loriga has a cut open up from a legal blow, ruled correctly by the official.

WBA Intercontinental 147lb title. :wall (first defense of Skeete after claiming the vacant belt when he outpointed Christopher Sebire in February...I'm sorry to say, it will be all twelve for Skeete from here out until someone beats him...)

 

Round 5

Skeete is jabbing and trotting. Rinse & repeat. Loriga is keeping his guard up as he walks in but erring on the inside by dropping it to both leave himself open to head-rattling jabs and betray his intentions and let Skeete hop out to safety. (often whilst landing a sharp jab)

Round 6

Skeete is starting to mix in more right hands and left hooks, unfurling combos of twos and threes now every time Loriga blunders in with a misguided straightforward placement of his left foot without cinching up his guard. Loriga is beginning to wilt and rock visibly from the impact of Skeete's counters as he gets hit with clockwork dependability rolling in as though stuck on a conveyor belt at the airport.

Round 7

Skeete is landing the 1-2 and reversing it. Lead rights and jabs nudge lightly into the face of Loriga, who is reacting to each like a crowbar, accumulation doing him in. Skeete opens up with a longer combination, UPPERCUT! That sent Loriga reeling into the ropes. Skeete jumps after him slapping away with overhand rights. The ref spatulas himself in and flips them apart like hotcakes, waving like a southern Baptist. :hi:
