he was overrated a bit but he and the other fab 4 made boxing exciting!

 

duran fans have a pattern. they know he didn't measure up to the greats of his era losing to all of them, so they play word games.

duran did nothing with his career of note after the first leonard win. after quitting in the rematch it would take duran 4 years to win another major title.

after beating 12-0 davey moore he then goes another 4 years before winning a title at 160.

duran was more comparable to erik morales career wise due to his inability to dominate outside of one weight class.

he was a little overrated due to lack of foot speed and great wins but this is a little unfair. He was better than Morales.

 

Whitaker never beat one great fighter, he drew with Chavez got beat by DLH and got a beating from Trinidad, he got two gift decisions over the average Wilfredo Rivera was getting his ass beat by Dyobelis Hurtado of all people before he knoked him out in the 11th, went life and death with an injured Buddy Mcgirt in their first fight. if Duran's overrated then what is Whitaker? When Duran's record pisses all over Whitaker's resume.
