I just recently re-watched a little bit of Pacquiao-Cotto, which I think most on here would agree was his prime as a fighter. His work rate was blistering and his movement was just splendid. I would liken his current form, which is not nearly as bad as some are describing (IMO), to a 35-36 year old Michael Jordan. Of course in his late 20s and early 30s, Jordan was a force of nature. That doesn't mean he wasn't great at 35. He had to conserve his energy a little more. While still athletic, he wasn't dunking quite as often. I still think we see spurts of prime pacquiao....but I do agree he's changed.

I don't think the answer isn't as cut and dry as people think both have there strengths and weaknesses for being better.

Bradley: pro's- unbeaten*, P4P top 3*, coming off a big wins as a whole Bradley has a better resume/more experienced with him being older and having more time on the elite level, WBO WW Champ.
con's- though unbeaten a lot had Bradley losing 2/3 if not 3 straight fights.

Alvarez: pro's-unbeaten, coming off big win, top opponent in higher weightclass, unified JMW Champ, P4P #10*
con's- catchweight, not as much experience on the biggest stage, some think he lost his previous fight to Trout

Ultimately I think Alvarez is a better win for these reasons while Bradley is more decorated Alvarez is arugably a tougher opponent than Bradley & current Pacquiao. Next the overwhelming majority feels Pac dominated Bradley in their first fight if you have that belief beating a guy a second time you already dominated doesn't get you extra points. Alvarez by most was touted as the future of the sport. As far as P4P technically Bradley was rated as high as #2 but the majority if that basis is by his last three fights which again if you feel he lost to Pac/Ruslan/JMM or in most cases 2/3 then Bradley is not a top P4P guy, Alvarez was rated more so for potential but might not deserve to be P4P currently imo.

So true. An athlete's career is finite. Luckily for us as fans, we get to enjoy their greatness in the ring. If Pacquiao wants to continue fighting and he's not embarrassing himself and staying competitive with elite fighters, what's the problem?? Some think he should quit because he's not what he "used to be." Hell, my favorite time rooting for athletes is usually at the end of their career when people are writing them off. Hell, Bernard Hopkins hasn't been what he used to be for 20 years now but we still enjoy his fights.

Last night's fight was exciting and entertaining. Why is the fact that he's not as good as he used to be so damn important to you all?? just curious

it's simple all you have to do is say. whats better mayweather beating bradley or pacquiao beating canelo. the common dominator would be canelo. floyd dominating canelo is better then pacquiao edging bradley :good

This I absolutely agree with. however, his fans are just down-right AWFUL for Boxing forums and Boxing conversations. The shyt that comes out of their mouth is just down-right head-shakingly cringe-worthy mind-blowingly face-palming vomit in my mouth and wanna punch a MF in his nut-sack stupid!!!

Bradley was widely recognized as P4P#3 (if not P4P#2, depending on how much you factor in Ward's "absence" from the sport) and WW#2 (just behind FMJ) when he fought Pac.
Pac is an old dog coming off from a vicious KO6 coming from the man that Bradley just manhandled.
    That says it all.
