WK's 11 defenses vs. top10-fighters (at the time of the fight) according to boxrec (in this reign, his first WBO reign was significantly weaker):
Byrd (not a defense but a title fight)
    Brock
    Brewster
    Ibragimov
    Thompson I
    Chagaev
    Chambers
    Peter
    Haye
    Thompson II
    Povetkin

    other defenses (5):
    Austin
    Rahman
    Mormeck
    Wach
    Pianeta

Doesn't look like he's ducking anyone. I'm pretty sure he'll fight Pulev in 2014 and I don't believe any other fighter is capable enough to have a chance vs. WK.

Don't forget: This is professional boxing which means earning money is the top priority of anyone involved besides us fans. So a well paid defense vs. a lesser boxer is very rational.

Not that interesting, plenty of people have landed a punch on Wlad and he's gone on to win just the same. It's not like Wlad has ever been laid out cold.

plenty haven't had serious ko power though. not to mention the odd blown up cruiser.

alex will fight with true bad intention and will not be intimidated, unlike others who have entered the ring expecting a loss.

Leapai has done nothing to deserve a shot at the HW title, but you're definitely doing a great job of promoting this non-fight. Great job, Wlad (or are you Vitali?)!

Leapai would only be a real life Rocky Balboa if he shows up and gives Wlad a tough fight. Until then he's just a journeymen who hit the jackpot and somehow got a title shot.

After Leapai, Wlad will try to unify the WBC belt with his others.

If Stiverne wins, because he's a Don King fighter there will be no unification, he'll sit on the WBC belt for years like Guillermo Jones did with his WBA cruiserweight belt.

If Arreola wins, we have a good chance of seeing Wlad fight Arreola later this year.

If Arreola wins he must fight Wilder and the winner must then fight either Jennings or Prez.
The WBC is booked out but you already know this.
Wlad will be stripped if he doesn't face Pulev after Leapai.

    We'll see.

Sometimes exceptions are made for unification fights.

But if Stiverne wins, there will be no unification for Wlad (unless Wilder beats Stiverne, then we might see Wilder-Wlad after Wlad-Pulev).
