The fight was just announced, the undercard will follow and I'm sure it will be entertaining considering the main event isn't a joke.

If it's 1lb then it shouldn't be a problem. For Lara all he has to do is move up which should be a good thing and won't do him any harm/different. If Alvarez fails to make it this fight instantly loses its interest for me and I won't tune in.

My guess is that Saul negotiates for a pound now, then buys another pound or two on the eve of the fight when it's too late for Lara to back out.

They better stack the undercard to make this a more credible PPV.

To hardcore fans, this is an incredible matchup, it'll probably end up as being 1 of the top 5 matchups of the year as far as the level of both fighters competing. But no casual fan has any clue on who Lara is (unfortunately.)

In my eyes this is a 50-50 matchup. If Lara comes in focused and actually sustains a respectable work rate per round, than I'd give him the slight edge. He'll probably fight the majority of the match from a distance, but he'll have to exchange at certain times in the pocket to get some clear rounds. Those exchanges should be really interesting to see who gets the best of who.

The way Canelo has developed has been impressive to see (aside from his fight with FLoyd obviously.) He's a very good boxer, good pop in both hands, good combinations, excellent handspeed for a big JMW and has underrated defensive abilities.

Props to both guys for going through with this.
