I realize Wladimir Klitschko is on the weaker side of world champions, but for Christ's sake, that doesn't mean that ANYBODY can beat him. Sure Frank Bruno was a tough guy. He was always in good shape, had solid power and gave some good accounts of himself.. But the man is being blown to the stars here.. If he defeated somebody of Klitschko's abilities during the 80's-90's I must have missed it.

Even if he had the skills and ability, Bruno's style doesn't even give him a remote chance of beating Wlad. Has anybody beat Wlad by cautiously boxing him at range? I'm at a loss here. Because of his size, Bruno maybe does a little better than Haye at landing the occassional jab but he is going to get badly outclassed.

I agree. And even if he tries to go for the knockout early, Wlad will never get into a slug fest with him. He'll likely keep Bruno at bay with the jab and tie him up when he rushes in, while steadily gaining control of the fight as things progress. Frank Bruno was a good fighter, but he's just not Wlad's class.

The fact that he had to fight through adversity to beat Sam Peter says it all really.
All the other top rankers Peter fought in his career never came within a hairs lenght of a KO loss like Wlad did. Peter was a dreadful HW. Useless by the true meaning of the world.
In reality he near knocks Wlads clean out. And would of done if he had better stamina , but in fantasty land a destructive puncher with a great jab the likes Wlad never had to deal with - doesn't stand a chance:patsch
And you think Wlad can fight his way through prime Tyson and Lewis and come on on top?:rofl

Yes. It says that he acquired a win from an opponent who was giving him problems - Something Bruno never did..

What are you saying here? That the men who Peter fought other than Wlad, were never KO'd?

No.. The reality is that Wlad beat him twice and emphatically the second time around.. Making statements like " If his aunt had a dick, she'd be his uncle," is what separates fantasy from reality.

I think its recognized by most reasonable people that Wlad's jab is superior to Bruno's as is just about every other aspect of his game, with perhaps the possible exception of raw power.

We'll never know... But we DO know that Frank sure as hell couldn't.

Its says more about Brunos ability giving prime Lewis all he could handle , stepping up to prime Tyson and losing than it would , say if he went life and death with Same Peter and edged out a points win.
    Bottom line.

Prime Lewis was with Manny Steward

Prime Tyson was with Kevin Rooney

Post prime Tyson - TKO 5 Frank Bruno

Post Prison Tyson - TKO 3 Frank Bruno

Pre Prime Lewis - TKO 7 Frank Bruno

Still no come from behind wins for Bruno.

Bruno fought the better fighters by a landslide. Wlad never fought a great fighter in his life.
    Wlad is unproven.

Which title? Bruno won ONE belt.. Wlad one several.. Anyway.. This is going to be a useless waste of time on my behalf, because all you're likely to do is take anyone I name and claim they weren't better regardless of whatever proof or comparisons I provide. I can also see that you've stopped trying to refute any of my other points, so maybe you're hoping that this will provide you with another angle of attack.

Chris Byrd - Two time champion and beat several rated contenders. Far more proven than anyone Bruno beat and was prime for his first meeting with Wlad. He'd certainly box circles around Oliver McCall, Pierre Coetzer and the shot versions of Tillis and Coetzee whom Bruno beat.

Alexander Povetkin - Had one of the best heavyweight amateur careers since teofilio stevenson. Undefeated and a fragment titlist who had a good combination of size, power, boxing skill and chin. Might have struggled with McCall but had the better resume and certainly better than anyone else Bruno beat.

Calvin Brock - Resume wasn't as good as Coetzee's, but was prime when Wlad beat him. He doesn't have a win over Lewis, but neither did he lose to aging versions of Tucker or Norris. Good solid fighter with sound skills, power, professional record and amateur career.

Eddie Chambers - Was 35-1 with only loss to povetkin. Beat Dimetrenko, Peter, Brock, and Guinn.

Sam Peter - Solid heavyweight with a good punch, sturdy chin and fought with tenacity. was undefeated when Wlad fought him and later captured a title fragment.

That's five people to start with and you'll no doubt pull false hoods out of your arse to rip them apart, but please don't try and claim that oliver McCall or the exumed corpses of Bugner, Tillis or coetzee were better.
