Am I the only one that thinks Alvarez vs Lara is a mega fight?

I feel like more people should be talking about this (maybe it's being discussed somewhere I missed :think)

People were begging for this fight, but, due to the Floyd/Pac debacle inserting the word "ducking" far too heavily into the boxing fandom's vocabulary, kind of accepted that this fight wouldn't happen.

Everyone accused Canelo of ducking, well what do you have to say now?

This is without question the #1 in the division vs the #2 (which one's which is up to you). Remember how everyone was so excited about Matthysse vs Garcia, which went through similar situations (e.g. Garcia was ducking), and nobody seemed able to stop talking about it

It's about the best fight in the division, just not as exciting now as it was before Alvarez dominated Angulo. I think that took a little shine off this fight, since it looks like a mismatch in Alvarez's favor now. If Angulo was putting him down Alvarez may stop him.

 

I think its the best fight of the year so far.

And its gonna be hard to beat.

I have VERY high regard for both these guys skills.

 

On the flip side, Lara beat Trout easily while Canelo barely eeked out a W

styles makes fights and all that.

 

Angulo almost had Lara out, Alvarez will knock Lara out...............

 

It feels like any big fight that gets made recently is always overshadowded by the fact it's not Mayweather vs Pac. This is a great fight and I'm really looking forward to it. There are some great fights out there to be made, more of this type of stuff is good for boxing.

 

For us boxing heads yeah, for casuals no.

Here is how I rank them so far this year, once they happen...

#1 Alvarez vs. Lara
#2 Cotto vs. Martinez
#3 Pac vs. Bradley & Mayweather vs. Maidana can share this one... as both should be fighting each other.

Alvarez vs. Lara excellent matchup

 

The winner will scoop up the best W of the year, barring Mayweather or Wladimir getting upset (and a couple other cases such as perhaps Froch and Donaire, etc.).

 

It is not as exciting because Lara isnt very well known to casual fans around the world.

However, i think this is a great match up. I see this as a megafight for boxing fans. It should be a good bout. Either man could walk away with it.

 

It's a good match-up, but seeing as how Canelo always comes in as a light heavy on fight night I just think his fights are kinda BS.

 

of course its a megafight! the fight for undisputed #2 in the division. if canelo beats lara not even his biggest haters can call him a hypejob

lara is looking at his best win to date if he can notch up canelo he will very likely earn himself a mayweather fight

and the best part. ITS A PRETTY BIG PICKEM FIGHT...

 

it isn't mega. Lara has not proved much yet, and Canelo lost easily to Mayweather.

 

Inoue already has a better win than either result here.
