By the way canelo was only 165 pounds against mayweather that which also clearly means that he was a zombie, canelo was 172 pounds against trout. No wonder why after the mayweather fight, canelo couldnt even make 154 anymore so he makes angulo sign a new contract to be at 155. It just proves that he was a zombie against mayweather at 152 pounds. :deal

We're debating the current scenario, not something that was long ago settled out of court. Don't you want to move ahead? Because then the whole thing will just go round in circles.

We are so glad that you Pac fans are back. When Marquez knocked Pac cold for 4 minutes, I thought that you all would commit suicide. I am so glad that none of you went to the extreme. Manny told you that everything was ok. Everything is ok. It's even ok to start threads like this again.

I consider Manny a greater fighter now than I did before Marquez knocked him out... I think his ability to come back and beat a top prime fighter after such a devestating loss even on the decline is a testement to his greatness.

This^^^ too, in fact. And this is the present day Floyd making the statement, not just any fighter/promoter. But instead of facing/addressing the issue, Bob would rather sidestep it, or pretend Floyd never said a thing like that. "...no preconditions." LOL.

So, reality is that as things stand, the fight is a no-no. And Bob knows it and is just posturing. Period.

I think Mayweather can cope better then Pacquiao at light middleweight. Light middleweights have a better chance of beating Pacquiao then Mayweather because of styles. At welterweight they both deal at the same level with the opposition I think.

Pac would certainly have a tougher fight with Alvarez, especially now - even fight now maybe, but would have to favour Pac in his prime.

I can understand why Pacman turned down a 40 million offer.

It would've obviously been his biggest payday in the sport, but a matchup between him and Floyd would probably do some astronomical PPV #'s, I'd imagine somewhere between 2.5 to 3 million.

FOr Pacman not to receive a cut of the PPV shares is too unfair; even with just a 20-25% of the PPV cut PLUS the 40 million base offer, Pacman stood to gain probably somewhere in the 60-70 million dollar range.

He was probably low balled by at least 25 million dollars in the "40 million dollar proposal."

At this point, I don't care who gets the lion share of anything, I just want to see the fight happen. Obviously FLoyd is the bigger star in the sport as of right now, so it makes sense that he gets the bigger cut. But not something so one-sided as him keeping the entire PPV revenue.

I'm not claiming Floyd is right or wrong. But for Manny also for instance to say he is sitting on his hands by the phone 24/7 waiting for Floyd to call him again is just a little disingenous.

Arum is not a fighter, he's supposed to be the deal maker. I'm not sure how he can disparage everyone that would be involved in making a particular fight and then turn around and claim that not only is he willing to make that fight, but the parties that he just trashed need to call him. Nobody on Mayweather's side needs a Pacquiao fight. It really does little for Mayweather at this point. There's no need for anyone to go out of their way to deal with Arum when they don't have to. There's plenty of guys out there for Mayweather. Pacquiao can finish his career fighting Marquez everytime out if he wants.

Pac would never get in the ring with Canelo unless it's @ 147 lbs, with a rehydration clause and Canelo signed with Top Rank.

I will say that Canelo has some unimpressive wins on his resume- specifically with Cotto and Hatton.

BUt how old was he at the time he fought both those guys- 20,21?

He's improved exponentially since than, both as a fighter and the quality of his opposition.

Canelo is not the same fighter as he was just a few years ago. He's gotten much better.

I won't get into this weird argument though about Pacman-Alvarez. Canelo is too big for Pacman at 154 lbs, and at 147 lbs, I don't think ALvarez would be effective.
