If Hopkins went up to Heavyweight to fight Ruiz would he of won?

    Instead of RJJ, if it was Hopkins would he of won?


    I vote no

    RJJ's combo of Speed and Power (And yes he did hurt Ruiz) was too much for him

    Hopkins on the other hand......................no

    There is a pretty good reason why for a large portion of his career Hopkins was fighting smaller guys

    David haye throws wide shots and loads up. Hopkins would have a field day with him with short shots. Haye doesn't throw enough punches to trouble Hopkins.

    Ruiz would get destroyed on the inside. Bhop would be quicker in the pocket.

    Ruiz would not be a good matchup for Hopkins. I think he is too big, and would wear him down.. Hopkins was not as fast on his feet as Roy, and didn't have the blazing speed and power to keep Ruiz off of him.

    On the inside?? Against the guy who was notorius for hugging the **** out of his opponents??

    And thats not when he had 30-40 lbs on guys.

    If Hopkins "got on the inside" for a second, he would have been mauled by Huggy Bear.

    Of course he would. Ruiz was a poor champion.

    I think if he went upto Heavyweight now he'd beat some of the top 10 guys.
