What? "before the week was up" sounds a lot like 5-7 days. "First estimates" are usually correct, but they take about a week to get. The "official, confirmed numbers" take weeks. Once again, the early estimates are almost always dead on.
That has more to do with the fact that Mexicans were watching the PPV than anything, if that statistic is even true, IMO. And even if these same viewers thought JMM won, it's such a shame if none of them, including die-hard fans of JMM, was impressed with how Bradley performed. That was easily one of Bradley's best performances, I personally thought he made it look easy to neutralize JMM's style and to box circles around him. In much the same sense that he did it against Pac in Pac-Bradley 2 early in the match. Again, such a shame that these "PPV viewers" did not appreciate that about Bradley and can't see that he is still a top WW contender, when they would pay to see FMJ go against paper champs like Maidana.
top rank needs to improve on advertising and mgm is part to blame for the wrong fight advertisement before the fight. shows most boxing fans cashing out in the US are hispanics going out for hispanic fighters, hence cinco de mayo. anyways, fans are part to blame for their support in making good fights by showing their power in choosing only good, real, not fixed fights.
Only because Showtime needed to erase as fast a s possible the loss that was the Guerrero fight. :yep They hired 30 accountants especially for this.:deal
$7.8M is still a very large gate. I'm not sure this really tells us much. As much as people wanted to hype up this matchup, not many people thought the first fight was all that entertaining or competitive. Manny also isn't knocking people out anymore.
7.8m is a good number especially with such a weak undercard Canelo/Angulo only did around 2m for comparison.
