Ruiz was slow, but FF and small? No way. He had the power to hurt and stun people and weighed in the 230ish range. I would say he wasn't that small.

It wasn't a different time frame, It was exactly what I was talking about.

    Bull****...

You admitted to me that Spinks was only champ because of the weak era... And you know he would not have beat Lennox either..

This needs to be considered, to be fair to Roy... But I know you are not capable..

The 'dinner' was way back in 1999 or so in that time frame. I enjoyed that link though as it showed how Roy:

ducked his mandatory Dr. Vitali Klitschko

Demanded 100 million to fight a shot to **** Mike Tyson

Shows a Sanders fight was discussed and eventually agreed to later down the line and when Rodney Berman and Sanders signed the contract Roy then as usual tried to change it and got out of the fight

Not one of those fights happened :rofl

Roy is a Glass Jawed convicted PED using disgrace and will be treated as such by knowledgeable boxing fans.

Of course I don't think Spinks would have beat Lennox but if he was willing to fight Tyson he would have fought Lennox. They guy at least tried and didn't just 'talk' about it like Jones always did. Nobody in their right mind is punishing Spinks because he was KOed by Mike Tyson. Hell Roy wouldn't even fight the shot to **** version of Mike because he demanded 100 million.:lol::lol::lol:

In hindsight Roy should have stayed at Heavyweight and attempted to Unify the WBA/IBF with Byrd (a winnable fight) IF he got passed that then unify the WBA/IBF with the WBO against Brewster (a winnable fight if Jones runs the whole time) then set up a mega fight with Lennox or Vitali (depending on how soon he accomplished the other two fights) got his Glass Jaw Shattered in crystal clear HD on HBO then retired. That would have enhanced his legacy more than getting brutally KOed by Tarver, Johnson, and that Russian Popeye looking guy :rofl:patsch

Jones didn't do it though. Why? Because it was too much of a risk for him to attempt it. Spinks wasn't scared to at least attempt these things. He fought legit Heavyweights and won then got KOed and his legacy is much more secure at BOTH Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight than Roy's is. Roy has nobody to blame for this but his own reluctant attitude. :hi:

People can debate Roy's resume 'til the cows come home. Just on sheer ability, Jones was the best fighter I've ever seen in my life. It's one of the few basic tenets of my boxing philosophy that is completely set in stone: there has never been a better boxer to date than Roy Jones Junior.

That is great and all but he didn't prove it. He refused to make the big fights that would have told us exactly how great he was. Instead he decided to fight the Richard Fraziers, Otis Grants, Richard Hall's and Glen Kelly's of the sport. Beating those guy in impressive fashion is meaningless.

Sure, sure all true. I wish he had more super fights. I don't exclusively blame him. HBO confirmed that they tried to put out offers to the best fighters in and around his weight class, and they all turned him down. Hell, Eubank was on record saying he had no interest in fighting Roy. Even when Roy was at heavyweight, Holyfield said he wasn't interested in fighting a "rabbit".

Holyfield had bigger and more legit fights than Roy Jones at the time. HBO was disgusted with Jones and his reluctance to fight who they wanted. Just like the HBO graphic that had who HBO wanted to see Jones fight and lo and behold he picked the worst 2 fighters out of the 5 they listed :rofl:patsch

He proved it against Hopkins and Toney, perhaps the two best fighters of the era not named Roy Jones.

Chances are he could have picked any two names on that list, beaten them up, and you would have considered them the worst two.

Yes a boring fight with Hopkins and one about as bad against Toney then didn't do **** for a decade but 'talk' about making big fights. He has lived a long time off of 2 wins very early in his career. One of which avenged the loss (in another boring fight)

I see where you're coming from.

But any 35 year old LHW would want ridiculous money to fight at HW.
