You're dissing a HOF/ATG's name, when **** riding Kovalev who is 31 without one significant win.

Log off, you muppet.. whether or not you want to acknowledge it, Bernard Hopkins is a legitimate LEGEND. :smoke

You are not worthy of a reply childish member. Hopkins breaks the record of MW title defenses of Carlos Monzon of 14 title defenses against Tito and unifies his IBF title with Keith Holmes WBC title, Tito's WBA version and later on with Hoya's WBO title. Beats the man who beat the man in Tarver at LHWT and that is with a capital B, loses a debatable decision to Joe Calzaghe, wins against previously undefeated MW Champion Kelly Pavlik who beat the man who beat him after 20 defenses of the title, beats Winky Wright, wins the WBC title twice against Jean Pascal and the IBF title from previously undefeated Tavoris Cloud. Bernard is in the Game since 1988. Is this some sort of a prank from a Hopkins hater who prays to see him flattened at the feet of someone called Sergey Kovalev who won the WBO LHWT Title against Nathan Claverly? Start praying but buy Hopkins-Shumenov this next weekend in DC.

To be fair, the OP has a point.

BHOP will use and name Kovalev to promote his own name, as well as any other boxer or non-boxer in the sport.
    This is just Hopkins's way.
Remember back in the day after Don King when Hopkins was managing himself?
To fight at a high level PLUS manage yourself is not an easy thing to accomplish, but Hopkins did.

I think BHOP still has that same mentality where he has to promote himself and not just count on GBP or the media.
Hopkins has used names of others like Hayes, the Klitschos, Kovalev, Stevenson, Mayweather, Ward and many others to promote himself.
That's just the way Hopkins is.

Dude is an idiot pay him no attention. He wishes Hopkins was irrelevant but he knows dame well that is not the case. Most boxers will be lucky to accomplish half of what Hopkins have accomplished in the sport. The guys Kavalev was begging to give him a pay day ran to showtime to fight Hopkins on Showtime and this mudafuker is claiming Hopkins is piggying off of some dude that just had his first major headline on a Major network. If they guy Kovalev was desperate to fight in chasing a fight with hopkins, how does that not make Hop the major attraction in lightheavy division.

    exactly

    "MUH LEGEND"

    "MUH OLD SCHOOL"

    "MUH WISDOM"

    In every single interview/video...:dead

Stevenson & Kovalev both give him parkinsons and Shumenov has a good chance of beating him, seeing as he was getting hit by big shots from Karlo ****ing Murat...

Need I remind you: Hopkins is a fking LEGEND!?

Forget that he's been in a clear, steady decline. Forget that he's had hard fights against absolute nobodies recently. Forget that to win said fights against nobodies he's had to spoil, foul, cheat every possible way, and reduce his output to almost nothing.

If he fights this hypejob noskill Kovalev BUM, it's gonna be a boxing lesson just like Kelly Pavlik (the have the same style, right?).

You don't need to remind anyone. Hopkins makes sure to cram that piece of information down people's throats whenever he has an opportunity to speak to a broader audience.

    Kovalev is not Kelly Pavlik.

Hopkins is also 6 years removed from the Pavlik fight.

    Wow the dumbassery on here.

It is so funny watching the truly stupid and gimpish desperately defending their hero, Hopkins.

The guy is not going out gracefully. He is actually hurting the sport by sticking around and playing his tired: Me against the world, single man passion play that got old ten years ago. The only thing he has managed to accomplish the past five years is to gum up the LHW divison and find dirtier ways to bore and sicken us, while still playing the victim and spinning the sport to support his seemingly neverending saga of fouls, faked injuries, accusations, lawsuts and self serving grift.
