    Baldomir couldnt break an egg.
Madonna faster and much stronger plus he cant hit like a mule.
Dont kid yourself -- Floyd will have his work cut out for him.

Thread question: Baldomir was slower. Guerrero was about equal in speed to Maidana up at WW.

Maidana is faster than Clottey on the outside. On the inside? Advantage Clottey (those uppercuts when he wanted to use em, mmmhm!).

I agree with Baldomir, but I think even Baldomir was a bit faster that Maidana. The only thing in doubt about this fight is how Mayweather will win... ko ( probably not ) tko ( maybe ) or ud ( highly likely )

Those guys aren't that slow. (Cotto, Canelo, Guerruero) I would actually classify them maybe on the higher end of the handspeed spectrum. But they aren't elite like Floyd. Maidana is a guy whose speed is not good at all. Slowest since Baldomir. Gatti was also faster than Baldomir lol, just bad defensive skills.

Better? yes. But against mayweather? I don't think so. I just think stylistically you need some speed yourself to beat FMJ.

I'm not going to really rip on him that much for his choice of opponent. Marcos has paid his dues and its good to see him get a shot. Also most of the other fighters that deserve a shot and have a chance are with HBO, and I still think they'd lose but make it interesting. (Pac, Bradley)

Maidana does not have bad hand speed at all. He doesn't flick his shots with speed consistently (one shouldn't try to with that style anyways), but he can throw pretty fast at times.

He just fought Canelo (ginger has very quick hands but is slow as **** on his feet)

If you talk overall slow, probably Baldomir

If Canelo, who has much faster hands and waay better timing and accuracy than Maidana, couldn't catch Floyd, Chino ain't gonna land anything.

Mismatch of epic proportions and one sided snoozefest this match is

That is not directly comparable. Maidana throws with a lot of weird angles and looping shots, where Canelo in very by 'the book'. You are talking like the only factor in landing good punches is speed. If that was true KO6 wouldn't have happened.

True. Angles matter, and if the punch isn't thrown textbook it can be harder for eye to decipher what it is as quickly. Although I think Marquez's timing is what made KO6 possible. Also his long time spent with Pac... (40+ rounds)

Maidana isn't Marquez though. Mayweather isn't Pacquaio. You have a fighter who is harder to figure out, and a fighter who isn't as wise as the boxing sage marquez...
