Thank you T, it was a good read. Seems like all the guys mentioned were headcases, I promise you I would not have had anything to do with any of the fighters mentioned. I am wondering why he backed such guys? Like someone once told me "Why do you need another headache?!". He should have heeded that old adage in boxing "Never fall in love with a boxer or a ***** they will break your heart everytime." Seems his heart betrayed his head.

 

Stick with business admin. cos it teaches you how to manage a business and boxing is a business. Give boxing a shot, cos when you get to my age the "regrets" start slapping you around. "Dang, I shoulda done this or that now I am too old" Believe me it will hit you, the regrets of things you shoulda, coulda done but didn't.

 

Has anyone seen that new or kind of new reality program "Knockout"? I have only seen one complete program and part of another. The episode I seen involved the total meltdown of Tim Coleman. It features trainers: Floyd Mayweather sr, Ruben Guerrero and yoel Judah, and nine fighters. The boxers were broken off into 3 boxers for each trainer's team each team has a 140pdr, 147pdr and a 154pdr.
Team Judah: 140 pd Marc Salser 15-1, got stopped in his last fight, 147 Martin Wright 11-1-2, 5ko's, won his last 3 fights, last fought in 2011 and 154 Ricardo Mayorga 29-8-1, 23ko's, lost last fight by ko to Miguel Cotto, has not fought in a boxing since 2011, but tried and got beaten up in MMA action

Team Guerrero: 140pds Juanito Garcia 19-3, won his last 5 fights
147 pds Tim Coleman,19-4-1, lost his last 3 fights by ko.
replaced by Antonio Mesquita,Antonio Mesquita 35-3, 27ko's lost his last 2 fights by ko, and last fought in 2012
154pds Jose angel Rodriguez 17-3-1, 2ko's, lost last fight by ko

Mayweather: 140 Steve Upsher Chambers 24-3-1, lost last fight by ko
147pds Said Quali Said Quali 29-4,21ko's, won his last fight by ko over a 6-18-2 guy
and 154 Denis Douglin 16-3, 10ko's, won last 2 fights by ko but before that lost to show rival Rodriguez

Not what you would call elite fighters I thought at first, might be worthwhile cos of the trainers involved but it didn't turn out that way. You might check it out yourselves

 

Manager, doing his job or being delusional is he missing the forest for trees? Rigo's manager is announcing that Rigo will be a free agent after his next 'fight". Rigo, is a boring "fighter" 'er boxer. You can't sell something nobody wants. The rule of the market place in this case rules, the people have spoken by staying away from his "fights" in droves. Don't blame the promoter if your fighter has a less then exciting style and people don't attend his fights. Promoters have to sell a fight to the media outlets, the media outlets have to sell it to sponsors, subscribers or investors. If Rigo was what his manager was selling, believe this that's what they want the excitement of an elite fighter that would make everybody happy, the fighter cos he is getting paid, the promoter cos he is filling an arena and making money, the media outlet, cos their high ratings would justify the money they spent on the fight, the sponsors cos they have a platform to sell their product or services, the investor cos big ratings equate into new subscribers, the subscribers cos they got to see a great fight.
In a Rigo fight, the only Rigo and his manager, benefit. If you go down the line, the promoter, loses money, the media outlets get low ratings, the sponsors are pissed cos they spent good money just to see it go down the drain, and lastly the fan's who wanted to see something and instead were bored to death.
Rigo's manager is doing his job selling fool's gold for gold prices. The promoter, the media outlets, the sponsors and the fan's have spoken, NO MORE RIGO, PLEASE. The marketplace has spoken, please listen. It's not our fault that we don't appreciate Rigo's safety first style.

 

Just came across this: "Michele Di Rocco Will Stay Active With Six Rounder. "
Di Rocco, current EBU super lightweight champion, was supposed to defend his title May17 in Rome that fight was canceled cos of Di Rocco having the flu but guess what he still wanted to fight and is fighting the same date May 17th, in a non title 6rdr. I have to hand it to Di Rocco and team for accepting a 6rdr when he could have easily said no.
Think about how many would have done the same, I can't think of one. A big thumbs up for Team DiRocco
