Can't believe the stoppage in the Corrales fight. JLC was hurting DC all fight long. Hurt him just that very rd, but punched himself out. Then DC got the stoppage without JLC going down.

Post your favorite JLC fights and give your analysis of the fights, and how they could would shoulda turned out.

I'll start with his recent great performance against hot prospect, Ivan Popoca.

Popocas ppl thought they'd bring in the legend to pad their guys record and make him an instant contender.

JLC caught Popoca will a counter L hook and never let of the gas. Great win for a 39 yo legend. Sadly, his speed is non existent. His powers still there, but his timing is shot as are his legs.:think

Would love to see him hook up with Roidnards and Roidquezs ppl and see if he can acheive what they are using TRT.....Maybe we'll get Roid Mayflower 3 outta it.:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Ppl talk about Bute given extra time after he was up and the fight was over vs Andrade.........

How bout Corrales.....Weeks start the count at 3, when Deigo had already been down for 4, and he stops at 9 and Deigo still isnt fully risen with his hands up.....then a 15 second respite for the mouthpiece.....
Then...............he does it again..........and once again, a 15 second respite.

Then......as soon as Corrales lands a few bombs on JLC.....he jumps in, instead of giving JLC the count for being held up by the ropes.

    Revenge is a ***** though.....:deal

Jlc in his prime fought and beat just about every style. It really is hard to pick just one fight he beat and drew with another underrated fighter in Johnston who I think would of been trouble for Floyd too. His demolitions of Diaz and Lazcano were stuff to behold and putting great displays of smart pressure vs intelligent fighters like Casamayor, Johnston, and Mayweather showed Jlc was a special fighter, but his best days are behind him man. Wish there were more fighters like him thats for sure.

Yeah.....had the Mayweather 1 fight been scored properly, Floyd woulda lost his 0, been more respected to this day, and would have had a trilogy with an ATG.

I think Floyd being gifted that fight has actually hurt him in terms of legacy b/c maintaining the 0 has cost him the Pacqioua fight which may have also produced a trilogy of 2 ATGS.:-(

The ropes held him up......it's officially a KD if Weeks wasnt in Team Corrales pocket.

You give him the count and let it play itself out. If Castillo was unable to defend himself after a count, call it.....otherwise......bad stoppage especially considering it was a 10-6 rd for Castillo with less than 30 seconds left.

And in all honesty, you of all ppl should be criticizing Weeks/Corrales/G0053N.

Especially since it was 10X more disgraceful than the Bute/Wright/Andrade affair.:deal

    All time great? Please.

Just like with pacquiao, people overrate Floyd's opposition like crazy. Apparently Canelo corrales hatton and a bunch of past prime shot fighters make you an all time great

Wins over Paez, Casamayor, Lazcano, Diaz, Corrales, Bazan, Johnston, possibly Mayweather that's a great resume the only reason Castillo gets underrated as a fighter is because acknowledging him as a HOF caliber fighter boost Mayweather's record Castillo is the best/has the best LW record in damn near 20 years

Great fight and great win for Castillo.......using only his R hand after the 5th, he continued to hang with a kid throwing 100 punches a rd.....

I had Castillo ahead 77-74 when the ref stopped it b/c Castillo was wearing pink trunks.:hey

    Tough kid that Popoca....

He also had a war with Provodikov in his previous fight.....but Ruslan was who he is, and there are only a handful of ppl special enough to win that war.

Sadly, Popoca hasnt fought since this loss to Castillo. No shame in the loss, it was a spirited effort, and had he not been cut and hurt early, he may have pulled it out later in the fight.

    Tough stoppage loss for IP.

Would like to see him make a comeback. He's got heart and a solid skillset. And he could do something at LWW if he could get it back together.:think
