Or are you going to tell me that suing your opponent is part of Team Pac negotiations? Suing is how Team Pac ducked the fight and escaped the pressure Team Mayweather was putting on them to sign the contract! Pacquiao ducked accept it!

i was kinda the same i thought once can Manny make it into a Hagler vs Hearns kind of fight a real shoot out if he could make it like that then i can see some advantages for him if it turned into a dog fight and take Mayweather to places he has never been but i always in the end go with the safe bet that Mayweather would beat him on points.

 

Well, according to Pacquiao they have to fight for charity in order for the fight to take place. Offhand comments that fighters make during interviews do not actually equate to contract demands.

 

Pacquiao has *never* been ranked #1 at 147lbs by the Ring or any other credible ranking system.

I'm not going to delve into the PED talks since nothing has ever been proven definitively.

My belief is that Manny thought he was the rightful P4P # 1 fighter (I personally didn't think so,) and he probably felt since he was the A-side fighter in his mind that he didn't have to accept everyone of FLoyd's stipulations for a match being made.

That's what I like to believe is the reason why it didn't materialize. I might be dead wrong with my assumptions (probably so,) but I think the major issue was both men were the biggest fighters of this era, and when you try to negotiate a fight between the clearly 2 best P4P fighters in the sport there's going to be many hurdles to try and overcome. Both men having large ego's didn't help with negotiations.

Just think about how long it took Roy and B-Hop to finally have their rematch. i remember those 2 guys, who were clearly the top 2-3 fighters P4P in the late 90's/early 2000's, go back and forth for years on the potential money split of their superfight.

As fans, we were relegated into seeing those 2 great fighters end up fighting around 10 years too late.

Again why was extra testing needed ? He was tested for every fight unlike Floyd Manny never paid anyone to keep his records quiet ! It's convenient that Floyd's records can be kept under lock and key but Manny is at fault for refusing extra testing !And why did Manny chose to sue Floyd ?
