Who do you think has the better LHW resume out of Jones and Hopkins?

Just LHW resume only. Obviously Jones was a LHW for a while, but who has the better resume at the weight.
Hopkins did beat the man, but Jones has a long list of opponents.

    Jones -

    R Wright
    K Pavlik
    K Murat
    R Jones

Please note where some of these fighters were in their careers at the time of the victories and what form they were on.

Now who do you think has the better LHW resume? Please explain why and which victories you feel give the edge

Is your opinion mainly based on the Tarver win alone?

Meh, never really a fan of just judging guys simply by one of the many divisions the fought in.

Maybe you should be. Some fighters cant seem to compete in certain weight divisions

I did and I noted that you rightly pointed to two fighters with no pedigree at the weight, but you only noted the Tarver win for Jones and I wondered how else you drew the opinion, because as I noted, please note where the opponents were in their career

Some guys fight at certain weights in their prime, some guys dont carry weight well, some guys dont cut well.
Some guys fight better comp at certain weights, etcd etc etc

Thats why I judge a guy on his prime regardless of where he fights.

Jones was a fantastic MW, SMW and LHW, would have made a fantastic Cruiser if he had went there while still young and stayed there.

He even managed to be a world class HW, fighting under 200lbs

Hill and McCallum had just had recent losses although I do think Hill was a top LHW, but he and McCallum both seemed at the end of their LHW careers, but agree that I think they were better

Depends of your definition of "The man".

Toney was considered the man at SMW, thats one undeniable one.

You'll bring up Dariusz at LHW even though everyone will consider Jones to have been NO.1 the entire time he was at 175, up until he went to HW.

Hopkins was undefeated for 5 years before fighting Jones and was undefeated for 12 years after he fought Jones at MW.

Roy has by common sense the best LHW resume. He was dominating at that time and the fact that he lost to Tarver and Tarver to Hopkins doesn't say anything, not even the rematch between Jones and Hopkins.
