What did Mayweather do other than get sued by Team Pac that made future negotiations his fault? All Mayweather did was later offer 40 million as an initial amount to open new negotiations.... Manny again ran from the table.

There's also an argument to be made that a new lineage was established the night Mayweather beat Mosley. Mosley was clearly the #1 welter at that time and I don't think it unreasonable to have the coming out of retirement undefeated former linear 147lb champ ranked one spot behind him - especially when you consider that Pacquaio had only beaten a Cotto who was one fight removed from being beaten into submission...

I found the rankings for The Ring Magazine, at least, in regards to Cotto/Margarito I. Poster Drew is correct, as Cotto entered #1 and Margarito entered #4... I guess I've gotten swayed so much by what these trashy Margarito fans spew over and over again. I forgot that his whole career is a revisionists' dream.

The Ring Magazine had Margarito #1, Cotto #2, and Mosley #3 despite the recent Margarito/Cotto stoppage and also chose to not make #1 vs. #3 for their title, stating that despite a H2H victory in their previous fight, a rematch with Cotto would have been needed for Margarito to be crowned... which I don't agree with and I find to be highly contradicting of other decisions they've made, but hey, that's just me.

He said (paraphrasing here) if people think he hand picked all 45 of his fights, then his team is the best... Then he went on to say those things.. What he meant was that if he can pick 45 bums and be known as the best fighter or even a good fighter, highest paid athlete in the world, and look great doing it, he would be figuratively robbing the boxing fans.. You can't take a whole soliloquy and pull out bits and pieces of it and quote half the sentence.. President Obama said Trevon Martin was his son.. That mean he cheated on Michelle.. What he really said was "If Trevon Martin was my son...." see how that works?

Floyd demand caught Manny off guard. Pac knew he was guilty and use the demand as a way of getting out of the fight. Any person with a well working brain could see that. Then he comes back months later and say he want the fight because his system was clean.....smh.

Mayweather wants all the PPV for himself when he cannot sell a PPV event by himself. He needs domeone like Canelo or Khan in his undercards.

Neither was scared. One was dirty and got caught off guard when he was asked to give random blood work. So the fight didn't happen. The End.

He fought twice in 4 months, and looked better than ever, while taking RBT. Your argument is invalid.

By the time Mosley fought Margarito, Pacquiao had just beaten Oscar in his first and then only fight at WW. Oscar hadn't fought there in 7 years. Not discrediting the victory, but lets not pretend that win rightfully propels someone into the top half of a top ten list at WW. Not even close, sorry.

Williams had fought his previous two fights at 154 and his next one was scheduled against Winky at 160. However, he had fought at WW within the past calendar year, so it's debatable as to where Williams may have ranked at the time; further complicated by his big win over Margarito in 2007 and then the decisive loss and rematch KO to Quintana being his other WW fights after that.

With how close Cotto/Mosley was contested one year earlier, I think it's more than fair to have ranked Mosley ahead of Cotto, but once again activity becomes an issue as Mosley's only fight between the Cotto defeat and the Margarito win was his JMW fight with Mayorga.

It's highly debatable through and through. But you have to be looking for reasons not to view Mayweather as having picked up the lineal title at some point. Besides, other credible ranking "orgs/agencies/published writers/etc" had theirs set up to apply to my previously long detailing. The Ring Magazine was in the minority for having not done so on each of those possible occassions. However, if you are citing the Ring Magazine on those occassions and choices, then you also cite the Ring Magazine currently, and currently Mayweather is the Ring Magazine WW Lineal Champion from beating Guerrero (the new "#1 or 2 vs. any top 5" rules).

Sounds good, but Pac walked, and has to deal with the stigma of being a cheat, and possibly miss his chance of ever fighting Floyd. Smart move Pac very smart.
