    Hey guys & girls,
I hope you're all well and are gearing up for a fantastic Easter Holiday.
I obviously want to give all my mailing list a quick update concerning my shoulder.
Since the operation, it's taken 3 solid months before i was able to actually use it for everyday things like brushing teeth and picking things up.
I've had now around 5 months of rehabilitation, and the effects of such a program means, I have full range of movement, and there are not many everyday things I can't do perfectly. Obviously punching is not a "everyday thing" but Im not far away from doing some very light shadow boxing to test it ever so gently.
I now have 6 pins holding my shoulder together, after full reconstructive surgery. Scars have healed, and I'm feeling positive.
I've really cleaned up my eating habits, and have cut out all animal products to really give my body the best chance to heal.
No decisions have been made with regards my future as a professional boxer. But I'm in the gym every day, religiously doing the programme set out by my Physio. I've yet to work on the pads with Adam Booth or throw any “Hayemakers”, but I don't feel a million miles away!!

Cutting animal products out of your diet entirely when you are trying to regenerate severe damage is actually not very smart.

hope he heals and is able to use his shoulder 100%, but it looks like he's not getting back in the ring, he's 34, and that shoulder won't heal quickly

"cut out all animal products to really give my body the best chance to heal"

Bull****. Any scientific fact to such a statement?

His career is over. 1 month of training and his shoulder will give out again...why even bother?

He might have managed to get back in the ring if it was his left jabbing shoulder...right shoulder though..career is up. 1 missed punch and his arm will fly off.

    Actually, it is very smart.
Consuming dead things to sustain life is the thing that isn't smart. :yep

After he is all healed up he should call out Bernard Hopkins.

Hmmm.......I've been thinking he might give it another go, so many boxers need to be beaten out of the sport before they call it a day. I really thought Haye might be smarter than that, " Retire at 30" my foot!
I agree with others posting here saying his arm will give out when really tested. I wouldn't like the thought of steel ripping apart my shoulder, it's never going to be anywhere close to as good/strong as it was. Please take your more than substantial gains and leave the fighting to the young guns Dave!

Just thinking that Andre Ward had shoulder surpury also, but for muscle tears.
Hayes must have broken bones of omething to require metal pins.
If so, that might be the end of those wild Haymakers of the past. Mayeb it was the way he was throwing those wild punches that caused the probelem in the first place.

Good news is since David had always been so inactive, he will hardly be missed.
