What was Sugar Ray Robinson's biggest weakness in the ring?

    He is certainly the best I have seen. Even real greats like Louis and Ali had genuine weaknesses; Louis didn't have a great chin and Ali wasn't a true puncher for example. What can you point to with Robinson? He was great in every department! Heart, chin, skill, power, conditioning, entertainment value, quality of opposition; he had it all.

    Probably only the fact that he was so good and confident that he moved up from ww to lhw.

    I know it isn't quite the same given where he started but pbf vs stevenson sounds ridiculous, which for any other fighter would be THE measure of their career. For SRR it's merely one indicator of genius among many.

    check boxrec fo his knockdowns, he had a few of those. And he was hurt many many times too, read his biographies. I, have 4 off them, dave andersons sugar ray, is the best one in my mind!!

    I was fortunate to see Ray Robinson in his welterweight prime ringside, and SRR truly
    HAD NO WEAKNESS as a fighter. NONE !. As a human being he had plenty of weaknesses
    but to see him at his best he was a MARVEL....The greatest all around fighter ever
    along with the great lightweight Benny Leonard who could also do it ALL...

    This is a fairly obvious one if you've been around the sport for a while. His mustache thinness was easily his biggest weakness/flaw. That was less than pencil thin. That was the lead-in-the-pencil thin. Which is exceedingly thin.
