i think the state his hands get in often forces him to reduce the pop in his punches. I believe bill has above average power.

One of Billy's hands is currently in plaster.

Just my thoughts: Stevens beats him,as does the Cuban he just beat.Korobov beats him. He quite easily outpoints Neilsen. Lemieux is a great fight and anybody's guess. He outpoints Hassan and Rubio.

Ever since I watched Billy win his first fight at 2008 games then lose to the talented Cuban in the 2nd round I have always thought he was a great talent who would go onto win world honours. He had a slow start as a pro but was only 18 when he turned over. Also had hand injuries and some domestic problems in his life as well. Billy is still improving, he can win a world title.

He's as good as his hands let him be.

I reckon he would beat the hell out of Daniel Geale, I would love to see that.

Bursak got a gift over another Billy Joe victim, Nick Blackwell

that's two Billy Joe victims who beat Bursak, don't see anything in Bursak to suggest Saunders couldn't beat him comfy

    • Lemieux and N'jikam are too chinny
      Neilson is overrated
Stevens was just a yank middleweight hope , ESPN level
Rubio has always just been a gatekeeper

Korobov is a solid contender, about time he got a title shot, he was an exceptional amateur and is a solid all rounder

I think Saunders would beat them all apart from Korobov... whoch would be a 50/50 fight

I think he'd easily beat Bursak, but he's not even fighting men of his class. If he doesn't start to do soon,I think he may be found wanting if he ever boxes anybody like Stevens, the Cuban,or Korobov. But to be honest at the rate he's going he won't box anybody even approaching their ability.

And this could be the most telling statement in this discussion.

I think BJ has been matched OK Ted. He just defended his British belt against his mandatory John Ryder and before that he beat the Irish boy, so that's two decent wins against undefeated fighters. He's now set for the European title next month against Blandamura in Liverpool. If BJ wins that I wouldn't mind seeing him in with that Khomitsky boy who just beat Buglioni. BJ would look good against him and it would be a good win then I would put him in with somebody like Andy Lee.
I think BJ should have another 4 fights before thinking about World level.

Bill is quality, but that weight he's carrying around with him is going to be his downfall.

He's overweight for the Division, end of. Should be at LMW.

Think you're probably right about that,Ryan. He definitely needs a few more before stepping it up. I taped the Boxcino tournament last night, and have been watching the middleweight bit. Probably wouldn't have been very practical, but I would have liked to have seen Billy in that. Could have been a bridge between his past opponents and the ones at top level. If he's got hand trouble could be one reason why it wouldn't have worked. Just a thought.
