    And?

Did Roy not beat him twice?

Did Liles not turn down 7 figures to fight Roy in 96?

Yes, but be fair, he was 35, with 50 fights on his resume before his first real loss.

He has to be up there.

Things didn't end well for Ray Leonard and Joe Louis etc around that age.

The only difference is, is that sadly Roy has continued.

If Ray Leonard had fought on, he probably would have retired with ten losses on his resume.

Roy just can't give up the thing he loves.

Oh you mean AFTER he became irrelevant?

Why would Jones want to fight a guy coming off 2 losses?

Now maybe if he had wanted to fight Jones when he was champ then Jones would have fought him.

Instead, he admitted to not wanting to fight Jones when he was in his prime, and would rather keep fighting in Britain for good money against lesser opponents.

Ill say one think for Chris, his honesty is refreshing

No. He wouldn't have been offered anywhere near that amount!

He was a more dangerous fight than a fat 40 year old McCallum, Griffin or Hill.

Explain to me how he was more dangerous than Hill?

Also,it would be nice it you admitted that Eubank outright didnt want to fight Jones the whole way through his prime.

He only suddenly wanted to fight Jones when he(Eubank) had been beaten a couple of times and saw Jones as a money spinning fight he could retire on.

Hill was just a jabber, Eubank was the most devastating puncher when he got in-close and had a hideous chin, obviously.

Yeah Jones said in July '92 in Boxing News that Eubank was his favourite fighter and he'd love to go to London to fight him. Eubank said in June '94 - "I fight to win, and so that's why I won't fight Jones. He can beat me. Half a year ago after we walked away from Don King I would've taken the opportunity to fight on this Home Box Office if the money covered me, but Jones doesn't bring enough money, and with the SKY deal coming up now it's not business savvy."

That was confirmed... Liles turned it down and asked for more. Roy wasn't scared of southpaws like you would love to believe.

    Sorry, but that's complete rubbish!

    $100,000 maybe.

Liles had no TV backing and sold no tickets. Don King washed his hands with him because he wasn't marketable.

I could say Jones turned down $25,000,000 to face Benn. Benn was furious because he accepted his $25,000,000 in a heartbeat!

It's true that HBO offered Benn $10,000,000 to fight Jones but Benn was contracted to Don King and would've paid that in court for breaking contract.

It was between him and Pernell for the mythical lb4lb #1 spot. Most were leaning towards Toney as the best fighter in the world.
