I disagree. I think Maidana beating Broner really helped with the casuals. They all think Floyd is in for a rude awakening.

It won't do over 2 million. But this fight will do around 1.1 to 1.4 in my opinion.

The difference between you and I is that nowhere in this post above do you actually reference the toughest opponents. You talk fanbase (which Maidanas is insignificant) and promoters. Any fight is possible. Floyd is always the A side... but his side never even tried to negotiate with anyone else.

You and I are fans... neither of us is getting paid by Floyd. I want him to fight interesting styles while you have said that you just like watching him no matter who he fights. And as much as Floyds fans rejoiced that he wasnt fighting Khan... they seem to be fine that Khan is likely next.

Okay, but back to my question.

Who should he be fighting May 3rd 2014?

Agreed. We are on different levels. We see things differently. But back to my question. Who should he be fighting? If it was up to YOU.

What fight makes the most sense?

Casual boxing fans are completely ignorant when it comes to odds and how fighters matchup. This fight is about as competitive as Usain Bolt vs a kid from the local high school track team -- the kid has not a chance in hell of winning.

Maidana, due to the stylistic matchup, is a somewhat of a tomato can on which Floyd can showcase his brilliance, and the casuals eat it up. Stylistically, it's not unlike the Pacquiao-Rios fight, except Floyd has a lot more casual fans and Maidana is hot coming off the Broner win.

besides Bradley/Pacquiao which is difficult due to Arum, name 5 other people he can fight?

Erislandy Lara - best fighter at 154, fighting canelo to boost his ratings and would fight floyd next

    ....................................................................................

cant think of anyone can you?

People won't want to admit it, but Maidana was probably the best realistic opponent out there for May 3rd.

You don't have to be a causal to like the Mayweather-Maidana fight I think most people realize that Maidana loses to Mayweather not because he's a bad fighter but because realistically nobody can beat Mayweather, Maidana over Broner was one of the Three biggest wins at Welter last year and its a unification fight if you don't wanna watch don't talk about it constantly trying to change others opinion

    Money-wise, sure. Competitive-wise, no.

Floyd will outbox Maidana 12-0, this will be less competitive then Robert Guerrero fight because even though Maidana hits hard he is very slow.

1.1 Sounds about right. It won't do as bad as Robert Guerrero PPV last year. 1.1 to 1.4 is a very good estimate IMO. I do think some casuals actually thought Broner was "EXACTLY LIKE FLOYD".
