I love Wlad, but this fight is an embarrassment.

I'm not even sure if I want to watch the fight, never mind his training for it. Oh well, maybe he'll do the right thing next time.

Mormek, Wach, Pianeta(his own sparring pertner), the Povetkin travesty, Leapai.

When has he ever done the right thing. Don't get your hopes up.:patriot

Would you guys be complaining if Wlad was fighting Boytsov?
I don't think so . . . and yet, you are complaining about him fighting the guy who beat Boytsov? :huh

Well he made the right fight with Povetkin. Chagaev was the right fight to make, it wasn't his fault that he was on the downslide when they met. Iggy. Byrd. It happens.

There's talk of the winner of Fury-Chisora winner and either that or Pulev would satisfy me. Other than that, Wilder, Glazkov or Stiverne would be okay.

I would be yeah. I'd be like, ****, he's fighting a guy that just lost to some guy i've never heard of.

I hope he just walks towards Leapai and knocks him out.

No safety first, no jabbing and grabbing into submission, just the Wlad of old from the beginning of his career. Seek and destroy, like before the Sanders and Brewster debacles. I think that's actually safer as just winning round after round by being dull.

Yes, but I'm saying if Boytsov had won, there wouldn't be complaints that Wlad was fighting him..at least not nearly as many.

Say what you want about Leapai, but the guy did earn his shot, and he does appear to be very motivated. Earned his shot + motivated = I can't complain about that.

Yeah, if he was good enough to beat him he would have fulfilled an absolute minimum requirement ie not being beaten up by a bit of a nobody. No offence to the guy, you can see he's an honest pro and I wish him luck, really. But all this if your aunt was your uncle **** is just that.

Wlad should fight someone in the top 10. Not an abc top ten, a real top ten. He should fight a live opponent. If that's too much to ask, wtf?

But i'm a believer in one for us, one for you. If he wants to fight a nobody after fighting his #1 contender, I'm cool with that -- but he absolutely needs to do the right thing next time or it becomes ludicrous. Two defences of this nature makes a mockery of the title.

Leapai is the WBO #1 contender.

He couldn't beat Mormeck like that , what makes you think otherwise with Leapai.
He is about to break the clinch count record. A record he set himself.

He's only the #1 contender because the WBO voted so, likely with the help of Wladimir's lobbying. Leapai/Boytsov was NOT an eliminator, it was a scheduled 10 rounder with only Leapai's trinket at stake.

    Meaningless.

And you even highlighted the part where I said, "not an abc top 10".

Selkock Adyn was once some abc no.1 contender to Maywaether. Guys at the top like Wlad only fight who they want.

Povetkin was a good fight to take. But what he did to him was not the right thing to do.
A move that resulted in him being dropped down to Eurosport.
There is no excuse for performing like that. None. He hadn't the tools to out box him and that was the only way he could win.
