Was found lacking courage, Honor, and dignity.:-(

The fight I'm talking about is Calzaghe vs Hopkins.
Calzaghe became a legit LEGEND when he beat 5 men that night, Hopkins, Joe Cortez, and the three judges that Golden Boy has in their pocket.
Hopkins tried EVERY TRICK in his Dirty book, but Joe was too damn good to be denied.

As you know, Calzaghe retired one fight later, accomplishing all any boxer can do.

But Hopkins still fights on today, his soul haunted by the embarrassing boxing lesson that Joe give him..

So as you watch Hopkins fight tonight, remember what happened six years ago.
and that every time Hopkins wins it makes Joe's victory look better and better.:deal

I agree with the thread starter. Joe did have to beat Hopkins the judges and Cortez.

It was a wide UD , not close.

No. Hopkins was easily robbed. Calzaghe was hitting air all night long. Even his corner acknowledged the fight was over for them heading into the 12th without a knockout

    Yeah sure,

Hopkins was hit more times that night than any fight before or after.

Hopkins was out thought , outfought and beaten in every department.

Joe is a great fighter no doubt but Hopkins could have won that fight easily if he was not just to follow Freddie's instructions. Not tryin to put it on Freddie but Hopkins was by far the stronger man and you could sense that looking at their upper-bodies and hearing the thud of their punches. Bernard even touched Joe seconds into the fight and the guy was on his shorts and that repeated so he should have gone and roughed him back to his side of the ropes and hit him hard, not just with counters out of defense. As a result of keepin up and tryin to nullify Joe's unorthodox but tirin two fisted attacks, Bernard almost ran out of gas. But by far, Joe is as much as Bernard a HOF.
