As to the OP......

Both Haye and Potvetkin have a solid chance of making the Boxing Hall of Fame....as does Byrd, and he'll fight Pulev and Fury who will eventually become at least a 2 time titlists. :think

 

WBC champion Wilder 32-0-0-0 (KO 32) is his best chance of having a HOF/ATG on his resume win or loss

Poison to the Wilder haters...but undisputed fact, if its so easy as Wilder foamy mouthed haters claim... Wlad should survive Wilder first wave of ICBMs :boxer

 

Haye getting in the HOF for most injured...

Povetkin case is a shame...possibly still can enter HOF if he wins the title vs a big name

 

Well he's the second longest reigning heavyweight champion (In time, 8 years),
The Third longest reigning heavyweight champion in defenses (15 times),
He's fought 25 World title bouts winning 23 of them,
He's an Olympic gold medalist,
He's not been defeated for the last _10_ years.

He's fought Amateur world champions, silver medalist, Olympic gold medalist, Olympic silver medalist. He's fought a two divison world champion.

Well It doesn't really matter if he's fought a HOF:er since he will go down as an ATG anyways. Sorry I win this.

 

Wlad's best wins are Povetkin and Haye. Haye's best wins are a shot Ruiz, and Chisora. Povetkin beat an old Rahman, and went life and death with Huck, a CW.

 

I agree Wlad doesn't have to risk his life vs Wilder to enter Top 5 ATG Heavyweight...Because when Wilder KOs Wlad...Wilder haters will claim Wlad was a bum all along :bart

 

Well you can always talk down any boxer. I'd say that Haye's best win was Valuev.

Povetkin did beat an old Rahman, and went "life and death" with Huck, but he also defeated Chagaev (whose only other loss is Wladimir), aging Cris Byrd in his 14th fight, undefeated Chambers in his 15th and a fair amount of other names that were at least decent. He was also undefeated prior to his fight with Wladimir, and also an Olympic, World and European champion, defeating every man he ever faced as an amateur or as a pro, and never been knocked down in either amateur or pro career.

The way he defeated Povetkin wasn't nice at all, but you can't question the importance of that win.

 

News flash: Amateur wins don't mean **** in the pros.

 

Like I said, you can always talk something down instead of realistically viewing the point.

Not every rated amateur managed to justify the pedigree, but Povetkin obviously did.

 

Deontay Wilder modal example, 31-0-0-0 (KO 31) and haters find a way to talk him down :hey

 

If you look at anyone's career and ask "Who are their best wins and who did their best wins beat?" You will find nothing but bums. Don't only apply it to Wlad, it's boxing. There are rarely that many great fighters in any division at any one time.

Is an an ATG fight that ranks higher than Ali vs Foreman

Of course haters will downplay it, but history will know how hard it is to be Undisputed in this era :deal

Wlad like Ali is an ATG, Wilder is a deadleir puncher than Foreman... all belts on the line :boxer

 

The point is that lots of fighters have wins over Hall of Famers. It doesn't mean ****. Context is everything.

Don Kockell has more wins over Hall of Fame fighters than Mike Tyson, does that mean he was better than Mike or just happened to be game at a time there were more active and vulnerable Hall of Famers to beat?
