    Razor close.

Hopkins is closing the gap and in my eyes has surpassed Jones by a hair.

I'd like to hold off for another 5 years though and let the recent trends of their careers pass by, one sailing high and the other in the dumps.

Jones wasnt the favourite against Toney. He was actually a pretty big underdog as it was his 1st fight at 168 and Toney was the man there.

Bhop was never ever the underdog against Oscar , Pascal , or Cloud.

You dont know much do you son.

he was against cloud.... and the first pascal fight.....

i just threw the toney one in there for good measure ;)

either way it doesn't invalidate the point....

Fact is, Jones has been knocked out cold several times by less than A level boxers.

These KO's came not because Jones was old or shot, but because he lost his reflexes and had little fundementals to draw on.

Hopkins is a much better boxer who has never been close to being KO'ed, not even by the young Roy Jones.

The problem here is that your looking at the latter careers of both fighters. No one whatsoever disputes that Hopkins has aged better than Jones. I think nearly everyone will also say that prime Jones > any version of Hopkins. The question is… which is of more value? prime level, or consistency over a long career?

I was wrong I forgot the body snatcher . . . that alone shits over anything slappy ever did.

but this is not about how shitty joe is and his **** resume.

RJJ ranks higher because of resume, tito and Oscar had no business at MW and out side of that who did bhop beat? Pavlik . . . who's only claim to fame was beating a guy who beat him twice? Tarver who's only claim to fame was beating a shot RJJ? RJJ at his best beats everyone on BHOPs resume going away . . . can you say the same the other way around? HELL NO!

BHOP is close because of his longevity, he has a crafty vet with old school tricks and none of these guys have put the work in to retire the old man. it is not really a statement of how good he is (outside of his dedication to the sport and healthy lifestyle) but rather the poor quality of today's fighters.

I measure how great a fighter is by his dominance and how good he was at his best so is jones by a mile.
