i have to say im a big fan of floyd in the ring but on all access he is cringeworthy at points..

when his talking about old man balls and what females sleep in trying to be funny.. i look at those around him and feel sorry for floyd it seems like they are paid to laugh...

pretty sad for one guy to be so successful at something as hard as boxing yet seemingly do sub par with social interactions..

Agreed, sometimes it over the top. But I've been saying for a long time, I think a lot of that is for the cameras. I got a chance to meet him back in 2010. and he was a classy dude.

I noticed that all the over the top **** started as soon as the narrator says "Floyd knows how to sell a fight"

yeh i know he puts alot on to sell the fights and its very apparent when the fights over he gives his opponents nothing but love and credit and always states all that talk was selling the fight etc etc. but it does not seem like its hyping the fight doing what he is doing.. but whatever he earn t 70 million or so for 38 minutes of work and i did not earn anything close so ill take his word for it lol

can you share your story on how you met him and what you and he both said ?

Meh Floyd got this one. Maidana seems tailor made for FMJ. There isn't much left for Floyd but father time always has a chance.

Sure. Well I from New York, born and raised. But my Paternal Grandmother lives in North Las Vegas with my cousins. And before she passed I used to spend most Thanksgivings down there. The day before Thanksgiving a group of people ( maybe around 30 ) came around knocking door to door saying that FMJ was giving out Turkeys to the community around the corner. So I threw on my sweats I walk around the block and theres this long ass line, and I almost turned around because who wants to wait that long for a turkey. But I waited in line anyway. And after about 2 hours of waiting in line, and watching everyone grab turkeys and leave. There were no more. And there was only about 4 people left in the line. And the lady came up to me and said that they were finished. She asked for my name and number and told me to stay by the phone, because they'd be coming back with more later in the afternoon. So I went home and I got a call on my cellphone about 3 hours later, telling me to come to Balzar avenue around 5 PM. I did with one of my cousins, and we waited for about 20 minutes, and I debated leaving. And then about 5 minutes later a sleek ass white range rover pulls up. And theres this big black dude driving inside with this nice looking spanish honey, and asked me was my name ****. And I said yeah and he told me to get in the car with my cousin. And in the backseat there was FMJ sitting by himself. He smiled at and said "What's up Champ" and gave my cousin a handshake. The car drove around the block a couple of times. he apologized for running out of turkeys, and I can't like i acted like a Michael Jackson groupie and stuttered "dont worry about it, its cool". (I was 16 at the time and in complete awe to be honest) He asked me about my goals in life, what I wanted to be, what my family was like. He jokingly laughed and told me I talked like a white boy (Im black and puerto rican) . And he told me to cherish the opportunities in life and don't waste moments. He said that the key to this life **** is not listening the way other people tell you it is, its about going by instinct and intuition. He said theres nothing selfish about putting yourself first and going for the finer things. He told if you ever want to be anything, theres always gonna be motherfvckers who doubt you and they'll be the same ones to jump on your dick later. He asked me who my favorite fighter was, and I laughed and said "Cmon man what kinda question is that". I turn around and see my little cousin literally in shock just staring like he saw a ghost. After about 15 minutes of talking he asked my address and told his driver to take us there. He took out a sharpie and signed my knick hat, the back of my iphone 3gs case, and gave me and my cousin 2 pairs of red grant gloves with his signature on them. and gave me $2500 and told me to get myself a turkey. After we pulled up to house, and my cousin got out the car. He told me dont ever worry about **** I can't change. And If Im gonna do something don't bull****. Be the best at it. Be the best or don't do it at all. He told me that I have responsibility as a young black american to be great and to lead the way because the cards are already against me. He told me to keep my head up and gave me a handshake . I got out the car, and he drove away. I got inside the house and my cousin recorded the entire conversation, and I still have it to this day.

I bought my grandmother a full thanksgiving dinner, and some money on a pair of cool grey 11s.

He's a good dude in my opinion.

 He's good when you act like a groupie and suck his dick. I don't mean you did that. But it is what it is. Yes men all over the place afraid to tell him the truth. That's not "good" imo. Someone who is cool when you praise him but any time you have a problem with something he does and you express it he flips out and calls you names and insults you. That's the kind of guy Mayweather strikes me as after all the stuff I've seen of him. "Give me back them $2,500!".

I can only talk about what I've experienced. Dude was a class act when I met him. After my mom passed in 2012 I listened to the audio again, and it helped. He could be an ******* for all I know, but he wasn't one to me. That's all I can say.

thats a ****ing incredible story bro.. i almost think its made up.. its rare enough to see someone that successful go out of his way to spend that much time just chilling with you etc but to give you signed grant gloves! and 2.5k!!!? thats a once in a lifetime thing man...and he is right when he says the people who doubt you the most are the first to suck your dick later. i had many people **** talk my ambitions of having my first fight (yeh its the ams its nothing much) but after i did it even though i lost they were the first to praise me

Lol I noticed that. It's a shame when your money turns your pops into a yes man. If no one else in the world, pops supposed to keep it 100.

if you listen to mayweather you constantly hear him talking nothing but positive, sorounding himself with positive people. i know alot of very successful (obviously not as successful as floyd) people who live by this same rule. no time for negativity. it seems to work

The less flashy **** the better .Wasn't the worse but not the best considering Maidana is just very reserved .

It actually happened and maybe that's why I support him so much. He came from humble beginnings and just made a way for himself. I admire that. I wouldn't call it chilling though, it was maybe around 20 minutes tops. It was amazing though I can't lie. He has that aura of epicness when you meet him. Sort of how I'd expect meeting anyone at the very top of a certain career path would have. (W-rren Buffet, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, guys like that) And Yeah he was right about that. And man at least you did it. You gave it a shot. So many people never get over there fears and jitters. Some people never make it to the last lace of the glove. Life is about small victories that ultimately contribute to you becoming the person you're supposed to be. The fact that you had the balls to get it in the ring, could help you out in another one of your endeavors. Because you'll know at worst you'll fail, and you'll be able to try again. And at best? **** you might actually go all the way.
