Porter destroys malignaggi in 4 rounds! In a far more convincing style than Hatton, Khan, or Broner could. Does Brook really want to take on the winner?
Personally I'd go down a different route. To much of a step up in class!

Only thing Brook could get out of this fight is some sense beating into him.

This. I can't see Brook beating Porter though but Brook has to take the fight and give it his all. I bet he was watching that fight last night and phoned Eddie to get him a eliminator for another belt

I think we'll get fed an excuse from Matchroom "we weren't offered good enough terms, so we'll peruse another avenue"

It's gonna be tough for Kell, but he needs to go ahead with this fight. People will respect him more even if he puts up a great fight and loses than if he pulls out again. Now it's time to step up and give it a go at world level, even if he loses to Porter there will be other options for him.

Very impressed with Porter last night he looked huge and was aggressive & quick. I'm afraid Porter will flatten Brook quicker than he took out Malignaggi last night. If Brook does avoid Porter he will lose the little credibility he has with boxing fans.

yeah but the thing is, kell brook has a lot more power than malignaggi, so he could keep him off him.

But Brook can be one paced. Not good idea against Porter who will push him hard and make him work. specially on the inside. How will brook deal with that? Ingle fighters don't really have an inside game. They are good at long and mid range, but can't seem to cope well against pressure.

I remember Brook saying after his last fight, he wanted Mallignaggi and for good reason. He doesn't want anything to do with Porter. But I think he's boxed in now and has to take this fight. Time is ticking, if he wants to get a belt and there are bigger tests out there at 147 so he either takes the fight or moves up in weight.

He should just fight him, if he's serious about being a world champion he needs to take his opportunities

If he doesn't fight Porter he is a ducker end of, fought all the bull**** mando and eliminators if he ducks Porter and goes down another route that's a clear duck. I bet anything Brook won't fight Porter either he will pull out with injury or pray that Porter vacates. Brook has been begging for an easy World title, he could have fought Bradley and didn't they were praying Paulie would beat Shawn because they know Paulie can't punch and in the UK they could rob him. Porter is a nightmare for Brook, Kell knows this, Eddie knows and so do Sky now he has to go to America and fight Porter no more excuses step up and fight an elite fighter for a change anything else is an excuse and a duck.

People are getting (predictably) a bit carried away.
Let's not pretend like Porter is some Ray Robinson! He's got a leaky defense, seems over eager and is a bit 1-dimensional himself.
I agree that a powerful, inside figter will give Kell or sorts of problems but, let's be frank, a well balanced, fleet footed power puncher is exactly the kind of opponent that could tag Porter early and make it a long night for him.
The only worse match up Porter could have would be someone who can stay in the pocket and take his best with a superb defence. Only Mayweather really springs to mind there at 147.

I think you are overrating him somewhat. He's not knocked out anyone in the top 10, so we can't say for sure if his power will be too much for Porter. Plus it's gonna be another jump in class. Porter has at least beaten 2 top 147 fighters back to back so he's on a bit of a roll and has taken his chance when he fought Alexander.

Porter is still his best route to a title, but saying that, he's still more than a handful at the weight. I think his style will give Brook all kinds problems.

Porter stops him inside six rounds, I'm afraid. Brook is way too easy to hit and, I suspect, a bit fragile around the whiskers to keep Porter off him.
